I’m not convinced that Roger Friedman’s FoxNews.com headline — "Broke Jackson Family to Tour Again" — is anything more than unsubstantiated rumor, but a minor detail in his story about a reunion jaunt involving Michael, Janet, Jermaine, and Tito — the possible involvement of lesser-known sister Rebbie — led me to this awesomely bad ’80s video for her single "Centipede." Sure, the track pales in comparison to Rebbie’s kickier "Reaction," but that doesn’t mean the "Centipede" clip isn’t worth watching. (Click here and see for yourself!) Is Rebbie supposed to be the tiger, or the electric cobra, or perhaps the titular insect itself? Or is she all these mythical creatures rolled into one rhythm-challenged woman who’s trapped in a painting? Oh Rebbie, come back to the spotlight and explain it all — including your inspiration for the lyric, "Like you crawled into the bathroom window/ To bite him with your love." You’ve been gone so long — too long — and the Billboard charts suffer from a dearth of your beguiling oddness.

Would you pay to see Rebbie Jackson? (With Michael and Janet?)

I would only go to this if LaToya was invited; this would also have to include her song, “Hearts Don’t Lie” – so 80′s!
I’m not going to lie….I want that song on my ipod! Perfect song for walking from class to class!
I love, love, LOVE ‘Centipede’. The minute you mentioned Rebbie Jackson I was able to pull the entire song from the deep recesses of my brain. Would I pay to see her? Heck no, but thanks for the memories, girl!
Yes, the video is awesomely bad. But the song RULES. One of my faves from my early years, in fact. BTW, Rebbie should get props, if only for having the best nose job among the Jacksons.
I loved and still love the song ‘Centipede’ by Rebbie Jackson! It only hit #24 on the HOT 100, but ‘Centipede’ still is ‘when your hot’….and was one of the best songs written in the years by Michael Jackson (he also wrote Diana Ross’ I want ‘Muscles’ a #10 hit)…love that song too!
OMG! I LOVED that song when it was out. Brings back great junior high memories.
Yes,
I would pay to see all of them. Imagine the highlight song inbetween these Michael and Janet would be that classic hit sung live by Rebbie Jackson, ‘Centipede’…that would rock…that’s a great song! Imagine that song live!
It should be re-released because when your hot, your hot…centipede!
j.fo – I’m fairly certain that Rebbie was one of the few Jacksons that never got a nose job. A list that also included Randy, Tito, and Jackie the last time I checked.
I agree that Centipede is a great song. If I recall it was the first crossover hit for any of the Jackson sisters.
‘Centipede’ is the best recording by any member of the Jackson family, hands down. It’s classic. Doesn’t sound dated. Forget the video. Listen without prejudice. Rebbie is probably the most normal Jackson family member, and that makes her likely the most interesting Jackson member. Isn’t the world tired of freaky Michael and Janet stories and flopped comebacks? Enough already!
If I were Rebe Jackson I would avoid Michael and Janet as much as possible. Those two fruit cakes should only be seen on December 25th. And no, I would not pay to see them perform. Centipede was okay, nothing great.
I think Centipede is a perfect pop song, except for that demonic howling for a few seconds near the end! I loved it then, still love it now.
This video must’ve been where the Choreographer for ‘Bring it On’ got his start – Spirit Fingers, Baby! Everyone’s got ‘em….
At least Reebie Jackson can sing. Her dress was awful and she danced like a stiff board. I did not hear any demonic howling, I must have missed it.
I would be interested in a Jackson tour. ANd Centipede the song rules; Michael was at his peak when he wrote this; and Rebbie sounds great on it.
That song “Centipede” ROCKS! What an awesomely bad 80′s song.
