I’d like Eddie Murphy in Congress. Instead of–going old school here–Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, it could be Mr. Robinson goes to Washington.
Franken has exactly two chances: slim and none. He has said way too many inflammatory things, and all those comments have been recorded for posterity. It will make “opposition research” so much easier for his opponent. Minnestoa may elect a Democrat in 2008, but it will not be Franken.
I can’t imagine a New York guy like Franken is even willing to admit he’s from Minnesota, let alone representing that state in the Senate. I would bet if elected he would maintain his residence in New York and only fly into “the sticks” when absolutely necessary. I say “Dave Coulier for President”!
I find it interesting that comments need to be approved for his Youtube video. That must be way they are all so positive. I didn’t even know that was an option when uploading a video to Youtube.
Al Franken lives in Minnesota.
As another resident of Minnesota, while I think it’s likely a DFL representative will be elected, I certainly hope it is not Al Franken. We became enough of a joke after electing Jesse Ventura and I fear electing a comedian will not help the image of our state, or help the country (is he really going to be taken seriously in the Senate??).
Al Franken is intelligent and passionate. I believe he will be a force to be reckoned with in the Senate.
If he loses, he can always take some of the advice Stuart Smalley offered Al Gore when he lost in 2000. “I am… sad… about not being senator. All I have to do is be the best Al I can be!”
