I like to keep abreast of the ice cream rumor mill, among others (nachos, DVR shortcuts, Henry Ian Cusick), so I am all over the buzz about a possible Ben & Jerry’s flavor to be inspired by… Stephen Colbert! YES! The No Fact Zone blog posted a pic of a (possibly fake) mockup of a flavor called Americone Dream — which looks and probably tastes great, but just in case it’s all a big fat lie, help me come up with some alternate flavor names. Here’s what I got:
- Baby Ruth-iness
- Strangeness With Candy
- Butter Know a District
- White-Chocolate House Correspondents’ Association Dinner
and my personal fave:
- Dead Bear Claw
Let ‘em rip. Let’s hear it for useless lists!

Sounds unappealing. I’m just not into an ice cream that tastes like Stephen Colbert.
I will say that it should certainly NOT be “Stephen Colbert’s Formula 401 – The Ice Cream”
It’s not that I don’t like Mr. Colbert, but I don’t want to see his smug face on my ice cream… yet, as a picky eater with limited ice cream choices, the flavor sounds fantastic (I love waffle cones). I never really see Ben & Jerry’s locally anyway though, but still… I may have to try it, and pretend Jim Krasinski is on the container instead
The Word: Deliciousness
What about…’Green Screen Challenge Supreme’: Green Tea ice cream with Pistachios or, ‘Threat-Down Brownie Bonanza’. I also vote NO to ‘Formula 401′. I don’t even want to think about how it will taste.
Personally, I can’t think of anything I’d rather have than a pint of ice cream that tastes like Stephen Colbert. The fangirls are already drooling.
How about “Nutty Nation Torte” — of course, the second “t” in torte would be silent!
How about “Chocolate Blades of Thunder,” from the new Tek Jansen adventure, “Operation: Dragontongue”??
or Tek-ycardiac Arrest; Jansensational Java; Bald Eagle Eye Cherry; Tip of the Fat, Gag of the Finger; Bonbon Notice …
Wavy Gravitas
No Spin Spumoni
Oh wait, that’s an O’Reilly flavor. It probably tastes like an a**hole.
Annie – GREAT flavor names.
And if they do sorbet: Sticky Steve Colberry.
dreyer’s used to make a flavor exactly like this under their “dreamery” line – it was called “coney island waffle cone.” goooood $h!t.
such a good idea for B&J! i hope its true. i’d be in line for a taste.
