The Grammys will be handed out Sunday (check out our coverage here), but we won’t know who scored the most-talked about performance until Monday morning. Who will it be? The show-opening Police? Justin Timberlake and the lucky "My Grammy Moment" competition winner? Rascal Flatts?
Now hold on, there. Someone’s excited to see the country trio perform. (And not just Kelly Clarkson, who’s such a fan she covers them live and has joined them onstage.) They were, after all, 2006′s top-selling act. And when I chatted with lead singer Gary LeVox (pictured, right, with bandmate Joe Don Rooney) last week, he gave me a reason not to make their tribute to country rock a bathroom break:
"We’re gonna do ‘Hotel California’ and ‘Life in the Fast Lane,’" LeVox told me before sounding genuinely concerned that he’ll confuse the words to the latter Eagles hit with those of his band’s recent cover "Life is a Highway." He continued, "Please put a TelePrompTer up: ‘Life in the Fast Lane,’ Gary, not ‘Life is a Highway.’ See, it’s not like a regular concert where you can go, ‘Sing it!’ and hold the mic out [to the audience]. Mary J. and them would be sitting there goin,’ ‘I think he screwed up. That’s the wrong song, I believe, right there.’"
Maybe LeVox can throw it to Carrie Underwood, who’ll also take part in that country rock tribute. Or to one of the night’s other performers, who include Mary J. Blige, Ludacris, and Earth, Wind & Fire in another tribute; Chris Brown, Lionel Richie, and Smokey Robinson, who’ll handle the tribute to great male R&B artists; and such performers as James Blunt, T.I., Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, the Dixie Chicks, Gnarls Barkley, John Legend, John Mayer, Corinne Bailey Rae, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Shakira and Wyclef Jean.
Which performance will you make a point not to miss?

XTina always tears it up!
I love the Dixie Chicks. Can’t wait to see them rock the house and kick some Grammy butt.
MARY J. Does anyone remember her No more drama performance from a few years ago. FLAWLESS. I can’t wait to see what she will do this year
Kelly Clarkson should perform. I’m dying waiting for the next CD!!!
Mary is not to be missed.
Just seeing Sting, Stewart and Andy on stage together will make the evening for me. I’m sure these 50-something gentlmen are going to rock the house in a manner that all the night’s other performers can only dream of equalling.
Definitely The Police…all the rest you can see anytime. Can’t wait until they announce the tour dates.
John Mayer!
dixie chicks all the way! plus my girl MJB
The Police and John Mayer/ Corinne Bailey Rae/ John Legend perform.
The Police – no question.
Rascal Flatts/Carrie Underwood
Justin & Mary J. I am sick of Rascal Flatts; every time a show is on, there they are, the same remake, the same handclaps, UGH!!!!!!! Gross lead singer, icky.
I wish the Grammy’s would have asked Imogen Heap to perform. I know she only has two nominations and she’s still pretty indie, but she was amazing in concert. I mean she was just getting over strep throat and was still fantastic.
I haven’t watched the Grammys in years, but I’ll be watching for The Police this year.
