Hey Whitney… I was at the show last night as well, and was similarly blown away, more than any other Patty show I’ve seen. (Although I thought No Bad News and Getting Ready were mired in muddiness. You couldn’t even hear her vocals.)
I can appreciate you not enjoying the guy yelling for “Chief” behind you (as I was annoyed by everyone yelling for “Tony” near me). But I wonder why you think “Chief” wasn’t an appropriate song for the evening?

I love, love LOVE Patty!! I live in Austin (her town, too) and sometimes see her around—I don’t get star-struck anymore, but when I realize it’s her I get positively moony! “Long Ride Home” and “Makin’ Pies” always kill me….oh and “Florida.”

First time I saw her, she opened for the Dixie Chicks. I didn’t know who she was and then I learned and now I can’t turn back. Her voice is infectious. My favorite is her cover of The Smiths “Half a Person” (I found it randomly on the Internet many moons ago!). “Let Him Fly” is also timeless.

I too discovered Patty opening for S.C. While I love everything she’s done (esp. “Living with Ghosts”,) no one has mentioned “Flaming Red” yet so I will. “Mary” is a heartbreaker, and who knew she could be so dirty on “Wiggly Fingers”–love it!!!!
