Newsflash, PopWatchers, just in case you hadn’t heard: Lost (re)premieres tonight! Yay! And let me tell you, I’m getting ready. Been refreshing myself on the show by reading Scott Brown’s awesome guide to where everything left off. Been getting my geek back on by soaking in Jeff Jensen’s rocking Q&A with Lost exec producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof. Just returned from Costco, where I bought one of those economy-sized packages of Orville Redenbacher’s. Finished all my laundry so I won’t have any distractions at 10 o’clock tonight. You, too, huh?
Well, man, I had forgotten what a tough, tiring, consuming job it is, being a Lost fan! It’s been so long. In fact, I wonder: Has it been too long? I mean, I’ve forgotten all about it, and I certainly wasn’t, let’s say, stumbling around my house screaming "Walt!" all the time. I hate to admit it, but I’m not sure how much I missed the show during its hiatus. Also, I’ve changed a lot during the past several months. I’m a different person now. I have tons more time. These days, I actually do my laundry. These days, I actually spell out the word "rocking." But back when Lost was airing last fall and I was so busy being a fanboy, there were days when I had to wear my socks inside out — and I always shortened it to "rockin’" to save a few seconds. Besides, I had started getting excited about the April 8 return of The Sopranos. It’s tough to be pumped about too many returning shows at once, you know.
So am I ready for the show to come back? I mean, really ready? Are you? When I read Cuse say that, "there are a couple Easter eggs embedded" in tonight’s episode, part of me gets psyched and part of me groans, like when I head off to the gym at 6:45 in the morning. And as Cuse goes on, saying, "Whether or not you learn more … will depend on how obsessive youare. If you enjoy recording the program and studying individual frames, you might. But really, is that healthy?" all I can think is: My point exactly, Carlton, my point exactly.

I for one…am really really excited about Lost returning…Ive heard that the episode is really great and that its a Juliet flashback…How great is that! For all those people that like to jump on the bandwagon of a quick dismissal of season three…be patient…There have only been six episodes!!! For god’s sakes, Plus I thought they were really good ones to boot. There is so much talk out there about this show…well because this show has effectively done its job. People get frustrated cause they care….Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Hurley, Jin, etc….Glad that Your Back! Bring on the Dharma Popcorn!
OMG I am SO excited! I feel like it’s Christmas morning, and I just can’t wait to open the big sparkly present that is tonight’s episode! From everything I’ve read, it’s looks to be a doozy…ahhhhhh I can’t wait!
I might not be super obsessive, but I am totally psyched that Lost is back on! I wasn’t really excited until a couple of weeks ago when I started to think I was missing something. I am not excited about the 10 pm time slot, but since I’m in Canada I can watch it at 8, so hooray! The first episode sounds great, and I’m sure once it’s done I’m going to start reading all I can about the show and posting frantically on EW.
All other events in the world will go on hold from 10-11p.
I didn’t think I was all that excited…but then I started seeing the trailers on ABC and was reminded by the incredible depth of character development, the tangible drama and intensity of the storytelling, and the movie-quality production values…and suffice it to say, I’ve got my geek on!
Happy Lostday Everyone!
I’m trying to make it a point not to get too excited, so that when it’s awesome, it blows me away rather than being disappointed. That makes sense right?
I`ve laid down a tarp in case my head explodes at 10:01 so the cleanup isn`t too bad!
I’m looking forward to it, but frankly I’m getting more than a little tired of being jerked around by this show.
I love LOST but does anyone else find it frustrating to not only have to watch the show to fully understand what’s going on, but for it to also be necessary to read interviews, study comics, watch the DVDs, decipher secret codes, peruse 19th-century philosphy, and on and on. I’ll continue to watch it and love it, but I’ll still feel an axiety attack coming on with the realization of how much studying I have to do. Ah well. Get LOST!
I’m fired up for LOST! My next 16 Wednesday nights are booked!
Joshua, please share your secret: How do you get psyched to go to the gym at 6:45 in the morning? I really need to know.
My gym class starts at 5:45 AM, so thanks to the power of TiVo, I’ll be watching Lost first thing when I get home tomorrow night. Gotta love my TiVo!
I’m a big fan but with that long hiatus I’m just not as excited as I thought I would be. I guess I’ll know better after the first 5 minutes tonight.
Well, I’m psyched, but for this to be worth the wait, it had better be THE GODFATHER of Lost episodes. AND the next 5 weeks have to be of the same quality. So, this better be good.
