I saw The Departed twice and was blown away. All performances were top notch. Good as he was in Blood Diamond DiCaprio shouldve got nominated for his superb performance in this brilliant movie. And whats with Nicholson not even getting a nomination? That part was just meant for him. This film is surpassed by only one other in my “best films of all time” list and that is, again, Scorsese’s absolute masterpiece Goodfellas.
I’ve watched since beginning of show tonitht – Debbie having met with fashion hair stylest, jewelry, hair pieces, dresses broaches, etc. NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL HER THAT HER EITHER FAUX OR REAL HAIR DRAPES OVER THE FRONT OF HER DRESS COULD BE DIPICTED AS EITHER CURLY BROACH, SLINKING SNAKE AROUND THE NECK, FUR STRAP OVER ONE SHHOULDER OR UPSIDE DOWN HORSE SHOE OUTLINE FOR ONE BREAST. The neckline on the dress is gorgeous and evidently the cleavage is okay . Also she is way over on sexy and cutsie comments and then of course the clumsiness. Not impressed.
Having William Monahan win for best adapted screenplay is absolutely ridiculous. He ripped it off from the original movie, Infernal Affairs, a Hong Kong movie that had won millions of awards back in 2002. For him and Scorcese to win the awards is just ridiculous because it was not their original work. And some prompter stated that it was “japanese” really offends a lot of chinese people. I don’t understand how scorcese and Monohan pays tribute to the hong kong cinema by making them the bad guys and making fun of them in the usual hollywood stereotype of asians.
These guys are just riding on the coat tails of someone else’s original great work.
