REMINDER: Tonight’s premiere of Scrubs marks the first of NBC’s four-comedies-in-a-row Thursday nights. Starting at 8, it’ll go My Name Is Earl, The Office, Scrubs, 30 Rock. I just watched Scrubs, and was delighted by the presence of the Blue Man Group (pictured, with Zach Braff), Pop Rocks, and multiple dance parties set to Turk’s new "Bye Bye Bye" ringtone. And don’t worry, Dr. Cox’s fro remains as intense as an ’80s teenage girl’s. That’s quite a relief.
I’m personally psyched about NBC returning to its ’90s-esque comedy block. I mean, yeah, I’ll have to set two separate DVRs to record four different networks and then spend eight hours watching all the shows, but I can sleep when I’m dead. What about you? Is the all-star Thursday stunt getting to be a bit too much, or will you remain faithful to your faves and just watch them over the weekend, before you die? Remember, there’s no Julie Cooper in heaven. (Go to hell.)

I am glad I am not the only one stressed out by all these shows!! Thank God my Tivo records 2 shows at once. Unfortunately, The O.C. will not be recorded because Scrubs and the Office hold a special place in my heart. Good thing they are online. I am not over the loss of Marissa, it just isn’t the same!
It’s even worse because of pro football on the NFL network. I’ve never watch Greys, or CSI, and I think Supernatural is a rerun. So I will watch football and tape the NBC comedies.
GOTTA go with NBC tonight — i will tivo greys and survivor to watch later, but the return of the comedy block is just too good to pass up. EARL and the OFFICE are two of my favorites, and even though i have never watched SCRUBS, it will be hard to pass up. top all of that off with 30 ROCK (which i read has its best episode tonight) and NBC finally has something to cheer about.
Oh my my my my my… This Thursday night smash-up is forcing me to stay home. I don’t like to be home Thursday nights. At least Supernatural is a repeat this week & Grey’s Anatomy is online. That makes things somewhat simpler
My schedule will end up being… watch Grey’s online, record 2 others, and watch the 4th.
i’m sick of all these quality shows being on the same night. why can’t these damn network jerks space them out to, like, tuesdays or something? this is stupid.
I don’t have a DVR (or a VCR — I know, just kill me now) so I’m watching the comedy on NBC, then Survivor and CSI on cbs.com and GA and Ugly Betty on abc.com. If NBC got it’s s**t together and put up the 30 Rock episodes online, I would be in heaven. NBC.com SUCKS.
NBC comedies first. Nothing second.
Thursdays are out of control, they need to spread some of these shows out. Everyone is trying to compete for a small space, so why not move one of the good shows to a differnet day and that way, it frees up more people to watch that show. Havign to download all these shows on one day just eats up the bandwidth and half of friday could be devoted to trying to catch up on all the shows from the night before. Spread them out give the other days some love to.
Ugly Betty at 8pm, then football. CSI and Shark are reruns. Losing interest in Grey’s and ER, so I will skip those. No problems here!
Ditto what Todd said. I might sneak in some “O.C.” (which I didn’t watch before this year, and only watch occasionally now) post-”Scrubs” or when the sitcoms are reruns.
Faux-vo-ing NBC from 8 to 11 and Grey’s from 9 to 10.
EVERYONE: WATCH SCRUBS!! This show is worth your time. If they’re on their game, you will probably want to watch the episode again. If they’re not, give them another week, ’cause the only thing better in recent years was “Arrested Development”.
Scrubs is king…enough said. Kudos to NBC for putting 4 out of the 5 comedies (excluding “How I met your mother) on network TV I find funny together to form a formiddable, old-school comedy block…I’ll be watching that.
I wish ABC, NCB and CBS would let Canadians view episodes online… it’s really frustrating, especially after a Thursday.
I hope Santa brings me a PVR
Do you not have time-shifting?, I have my DVR recording Ugly Betty at 11pm when it starts on the west coast, as I have my DVR recording Earl & the Office, and here in Canada we have Greys at 8pm, so I can record them all in the one timezone… time shiting is almost as great as a DVR, but I could never part with my DVR, and time shifting is only something like $3 bucks extra on my cable bill!
I was ready to send a big ‘Dagnabbit’ to the NFL for pre-empting Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy tonight until 1 AM. (Y’all know that’s way past my bedtime!). I ended up watching most of the NBC comedy block.
The Office was hilarious Every episode of that show featuring different races and ethnicities cracks me up. (See executives, TV can be diverse and entertaining).
Plus, the Scrubs gang was on top of their game tonight and I was delighted to see a great episode of 30 Rock. Now, I can’t give up my Ugly Betty or Grey’s, but NBC definitely kept me entertained tonight.
It’s always going to be the NBC comedy line-up, (hands down)for me. However, “The Office” had their worst episode ever tonight. I guess it had to happen eventually. Note to producers- It was a nice gesture (letting Gervais & Merchant write the episode), but PLEASE- stick with the regular writers in the future.
30 Rock is just so funny. It doesnt get better thank Scrubs+30 Rock for me. yay!
The OC was amazing last night. It has gotten funnier and smarter each week. I am glad I live in Canada and as able to watch it at 7pm.
The Office was genious last night. One of the best of the season. It’s an absolute joy to see Fischer and Krasinski together again. Their subtle acting of encouraging Michael’s antics is so much fun to watch.
And then that final moment that played over the credits? Brought a big smile to my face.
I was so digging the Thursday night super block on NBC that my azz forgot to watch “Ugly Betty” on regular tv. DARN IT! Wait, I can watch it on ABC.com during my lunch break. Aw yeah!
And did anyone else think last night’s 30 Rock was the best episode yet? That show just keeps getting better and better. Alec Baldwin RULES!
I am so happy to have Scrubs back. It was HILARIOUS as always!!! Tell everyone you know to watch this funny & sweet show. Bye, Bye, Bye . . . .
OK, as you may have guessed from my posting yesterday, I am a huge Scrubs fan (WATCH THE SHOW!!!). I wasn’t a big fan of about half of last season, but it was still one of my favorite things on the air. That said, last night was the best episode of Scrubs since May, 2005 (My Drive By, for those in the know). It had everything that’s made this show great for five years, and none of what I didn’t like about last year. When the Faux-vo queue starts winding down, I’m watching it again. And you should too!!
Finally, an NBC prime-time lineup that can be watched straight through WITHOUT having to change channels or go do something else halfway through. And it is ABOUT TIME that NBC has put “Scrubs” back on the air again, even though John C. McGinley’s hair looked like a bad ’80s perm gone bad…
The NBC comedy block contains bar-none the four funniest shows on TV. Here’s hoping they don’t act like NBC and screw it up.
I can’t remember the last time I watched two hours of the same network in a row!
All the shows were great last night from Earl (men bottle up their emotions then hit something that had nothing to do with the problem) to 30 Rock (don’t the Islanders lose all the time?).
Way to go NBC!
PS Don’t screw it up
There’s no dilemma for me– it’s Scrubs and Scrubs alone.
Wow, I can’t remember the last time Thursday night TV was so good! I watch Ugly Betty and Grey’s and DVR The Office, Scrubs, and 30 Rock. There’s nothing like watching those hilarious shows whenever I want. Kudos to NBC and ABC for forcing us to choose between quality (and not force-feeding us crap!).
There was all sorts of ugly on Scrubs yesterday.
Dr. Cox’s hair
Christa Miller’s seriously plastic surgerized lips
Zach Braff as a women
I’ll watch all the NBC comedies and then catch the west-coast feed for The OC (which is hilarious again). Grey’s Anatomy is dead to me.
