Today is a landmark day in my personal growth. For the first time ever, I’m not filled with resentment and rage reading about the success of an 18-year-old Hollywood writer-producer who just signed a deal with a major network. Then again, maybe it’s only because the teenager in question is totally awesome Arrested Development star Michael Cera (George Michael Bluth), who’ll be starring alongside Clark Duke in The Good Life, a series of mockumentary shorts set to air online as part of CBS’s Innertube lineup. Either way, on the strength of Cera alone, count me in on this one. How about you, PopWatchers?
Meanwhile, the good folks at Fox Reality — remember when their parent company cancelled Arrested? — have a new deal with iTunes in which they’ll offer the first episodes of all their forthcoming new series for free for one week before they premiere on the network itself. And if that means cheap, early access to classy fare like My Bare Lady, well I say…you know what? I can’t even finish this sentence right now.

Michael Cera as George Bluth was my favorite actor and character of an incredible cast. I’ll follow him anywhere. Although, it’d be cool to see his geeky college student back on Veronica Mars.
As a newly recruited AD fan (I rented all 3 seasons this past week), I am still shocked that this great show got cancelled – will look forward to Michael Cera’s new endeavor.
I’m so proud of my little George-Michael, all growns up!.. (*sniff*)…
I’m also happy and relieved that he managed to escape Gangy and her dreaded Motherboy competition and magazine cover.. (*shudder*)…
…just read the synopsis for Fox’s “My Bare Lady”, and all I can say is WOW!!! There are no words…no words…
“My Bare Lady”? Hooray! Here comes the Apocalypse!
Will he be busting any sweet light-saber moves?
(“You’re STILL doing that?”)
George Michael is by far my favorite AD character, I can’t even type this without laughing as I remember his dead-pan “I’m probably not going to say it.” and “she’s really funny.”
Damn I miss that show.
what a fun sexy time this is!
“I bought you a wedding ring…tone.”
Who else is hoping that George Michael is the rapist on ‘Veronica Mars’ tonight?
That would be a BAD ASS twist!
A network that cancells AD but keeps “War at Home” isn’t playing with a full deck. I miss those crazy Bluths! Tobias Funke come back!!!
I am really happy to hear Cera’s staying employed. AD was one of my favorite shows ever, and George Michael’s deadpan expressions took it from well written and funny to hell to the yizzeah high-larious.
And Toni is so right. How do shows like “the War at Home” stay on tv? Shows that were proudly Un-PC without being funny stopped being entertaining a decade ago (Lucky Louie’s early cancellation seems to prove this point pretty well). IMHO, Donal Logue’s “Grounded for Life” covered similar ground and had a much better go at it than Mr. Rappaport’s show. War At Home fans can hate all ya want, you know I am right!
He seems like a great kid with spunk and talent, he’s very funny. I wish him the best.
