Trailer Blazer: 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'

91547__potter_lThe teaser-trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (July 13) flashes by in an instant, but this is what I got from it: It’s darker (don’t they say that about every Harry Potter movie?). It’s got Sirius Black (that’s gonna be my rap name, by the way). It’s Helena Bonham Carter, dressed up in her usual awards-show gear. And it’s got a lot more action — not just Harry fighting Voldemort, but kissing cute-as-a-button Cho Chang. Who’s excited?

Yea! I didn’t get to the theater to see Happy Feet, but I am so glad we have gotten to see the trailer!
    Looks great!

  • ag

I’m very, very excited. And I’m glad that the same actors have played the main characters throughout (well, except for Dumbledore, of course…) It lends a total continuity to them. Can’t wait!!

  • amber

    Im so excited!

  • yssys

I cannot wait, ahh it looks amazing, i hope is going to be as good as prisioner of azkaban was…

  • Christopher

I can’t wait to see stills of Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange… she appears only to briefly in that teaser!

  • heather

yay! so excited, so glad all the actors are back, and the boys have gotten rid of those horrible hair cuts from the last movie. why isn’t it july yet???

  • Vance

Holy Crap I can’t wait! And the pics I’ve seen of Imelda Staunton as Dolores Umbridge seems deliciously patronizing!

  • Carlos

I’m so freakin exited, the teaser looks great. It’s looks really dark and that’s a +. I’m happy that they’ll show scenes out of Hogwarts and in the “muggle world”. it’s going to be amazing. I can’t wait till July!!!

  • kelsey

yes! yes! yes! gimme more harry!

  • Mak

Yeah, I don’t know why they keep trying to sell H@rry Potter on the “darkness.” I think after PoA it’s just a relative term anyway. It’s not like Goblet of Fire wasn’t dark, after all; it opened with a snake crawling through the eyes of a skull underneath an angel-of-death statue in a cemetary right before someone gets murdered. So… yeah. Book 6 is pretty fixated on the concept of death, so I guess that takes it to a new plateau of dark (goth?), but Book 5 not really.

I’m so excited! Everything I’ve seen so far looks great! Is it July yet?

  • cassie

Judging by the shot of a group of kids flying around London on broomsticks, it looks like they may have had to sacrifice the Thestrals for brevity’s sake… Sad, I was really interested in seeing how they would pull it off on screen…

  • Mozz

The one franchise that still hasn’t let me down! I can’t wait!

  • Dre

Who is Harry Potter? Never heard of him but judging by his name this movie sounds like it’s aimed for children. Hopefully it doesn’t have anything rediculous like sorcery or talking animals ’cause people who are excited about this trailer might feel pretty silly.

  • Patricia

    OH…MY…GOD…I am so pumped!

  • Ruby

So, so, so excited. It looks so great. Loved the last 2 movies as I have gotten to the point where I can enjoy them as separate entities from the books, because it seems like that is a necessary step. But nothing is cooler than watching things from the book come to life…the dementors, the Quiddicth World Cup! But is anyone else a little weirded out watching Harry make-out with Cho…a little like watching your little brother do the same?

  • brandonk

Well, it’s true, they are all darker than the one before. I’m very excited for next summer. Hopefully book 7 will be out then too!

  • brandonk

Cassie, in the HBO 4 minute thingy, they did mention the thestrals, but I don’t know how much they’ll be in the movie.

  • Kathy Rocker

Oh my God!! I can not wait to see the movie. I have ready all the books and I own all the movies that are out on dvd. I really can not wait

  • T.L.

Allow me to be a voice of dissent: is it just me, or does this not look as eye-poppingly rich as the previous Harry Potter films? I feel like the compositions are lacking — especially that shot of Dumbledore speaking with the person in the chair right behind his head.

  • Anti-Dre

Well, hello. I’m Dre. You know, the one too cool for school and above the Harry Potter talk? What the hell are you doing here anyway, Dre? Somebody’s in the closet about their own desire for HP. You should be out and proud! Long live Harry (until they kill him off in book 7 that is. You know it’s going to happen).

  • Jakeem

Too bad “Order of the Phoenix” isn’t being released tomorrow. It would destroy just about every other movie out there.
And if there’s one thing we’ve learned from the recent past, it’s that “Harry Potter” movies do much better during the holiday season than during the summer months.

  • Jonathan

    it looks effing awesome

  • Amber

    I cannot wait!!!

  • jillamina

The person in the chair behind Dumbledore is Harry at his trial at the ministry….
and yes, I think it is all still eye-poppingly fresh and beautiful!

  • Howard

This trailer was the only good thing about seeing “Happy Feet” (OK, the one for “Evan Almighty” wasn’t bad either).

  • bootsycolumbia

Oooh, I have to wait until July 13th??? Aaaarrgh!!! It looks freakin’ fantastic! And I’m loving the new haircut on Harry.
Oh, and Dre? You’re trying too hard. Way too hard.

  • Sarah

    Hopefully this will go through…
As a major HP fangirl, my message board community has been FREAKING over this trailer. Imagine how amazing the film will be if the trailer is this fantastic. I’m overcome with spaztic joy!

  • V.M.L.

That movie has the same director who directed the first two movies. They should have hired the director who did the last HP movie because this one looks like The Electrical Light Parade instead of the Haunted Mansion. >_< I'm sorry but I like dark stuff.

  • Jonathan

VML, its a new director.. his name is David Yates.. Chris Columbus did the 1st 2
