They’re calling it a "shocker," but who’s really suprised that Kanye West threw an on-stage hissy fit after losing Best Video at Thursday’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen? According to MTV, Kanye interrupted the acceptance speech of Justice and Simian (pictured, right, with West), who won for "We Are Your Friends," to announce the following: "F— dis! ["Touch the Sky"] cost a million dollars. Pamela Anderson was in it. I was jumping across canyons and s—t! If I don’t win, the awards show loses credibility. Nothing against you [Justice and Simian], but hell man." (I’ve already tried to YouTube this and came up empty-handed. Seriously, Europe, hook a sister up. Maybe one of my fellow countrymen will post the clip of Kanye getting "robbed" of the Best New Artist trophy at 2004’s American Music Awards in exchange.)
As the story goes, West continued to whine in a post-ceremony press conference, saying Justice and Simian’s win was "some spread the love bulls–t" (Kanye had already taken home the Hip-Hop prize). "I haven’t seen [their video]," he admitted. "Possibly it could have been quite good but no way better than ‘Touch The Sky’…. It took a month to film. I stood on a mountain. I flew a heliocopter over Vegas. I did it to be the king of all videos, and I wanted to walk home with that award."
Now, in Kanye’s defense, I did just watch the "We are Your Friends" video, and I have no clue what’s happening in it. Speaking on behalf of Justice and Simian, they’re not the ones arguing that not recognizing a man for thinking up the name "Evel Kanyevel" and letting Pam Anderson walk around with her ta-tas exposed "loses credibility." And just for my own sanity: We are talking about the MTV Europe Music Awards, right? (And dude, the American Music Awards???)
Who came out of this situation looking the best? My vote goes to emcee Justin Timberlake, who supposedly quipped, "After the show, Kanye will be in the parking lot accepting awards he did not win. Seriously though, I’ve got sexy covered, it’s good to see someone’s doing crazy."

i thought it was funny before, but kanye west is REALLY starting to grate on my nerves. what a crybaby. he acts like awards mean something. who cares is MTV gives you an award? for pete’s sake. but i do agree, george bush does not like black people.

His ego trip has gone to far. At first it was a little funny but now when he is butting in on speeches given by the actual winner he needs to be brought down to earth. He is nothing special modern hip hop is farce. It used to be these guys were telling stories about their lives in the hood now it’s all manufactured crap. How many times did he get shot? How many times did he get arrested?
The only song I enjoy from Kanye West is Jesus Walks and that is only when I see it in the trailer for Jarhead.
Reality check to West you are a performer who had Pamela Anderson in your video how great could it be?
If he wants to be an ass making comments to the press… well it’s bad, but not horrible. But crashing the stage during somebody else’s big moment? Producers should BAN him from all future awards shows, even if he’s nominated.
I hope he’s been drunk every time he goes on stage to whine like this. If he hasn’t been drunk, then he should just be happy that he gets to do what he does for a living and go for a swim in his pool of money (less the $1 mil) and beautiful women.
He totally would have gone with Hasselhoff in that video.

What really gets me is that you know he wouldn’t dared of pulled a stunt like that had he lost to a big american artist. Can you imagine him butting in on Beyonce? The arrogance of thinking that Justice and Simian can be walked all over because they’re not huge american superstars is sickening, especially considering it was the EUROPEAN music awards.
I’ve actually defended Kanye in the past because I believe that all he wants to do is make GREAT music and videos…as in better than anyone anywhere.
But dude…you HAVE to stop whining. It doesn’t matter that this is JUST the MTV Europe Awards (ok, maybe it DOES a little), but you HAVE to show some class at some point if you want people to respect you and not treat you like a clown.

I’ve hated this deutsch bag since he first came out. I am so tired of the majority of hip hop artists (most notably Jay Z, P. Diddy, 50 Cent) and now this a-hole who think the world revolves around them. Newsflash: you’re music is NOT that good. In Diddy’s case, it’s actually non-existent.
Can you imagine Dr. Dre, Run DMC, or the Beastie Boys pulling a stunt like this? No! Those artist actually let their talent speak for itself.

Last year at the Grammys, he was about to perform his song for record of the year. He announced ” If I don’t win there’s going to be trouble”. It made it all the more special when Green Day won.

I would like to say that having an award from MTV is an accomplishment but after seeing the crap that they call music videos, I would say that their awards are as worthless as laundry lint. Kanye needs to get his thumb out of his mouth and realize that the winner got a booby prize.
First, he glamorizes dropping out of college on his first album, then he attacks President Bush for hating blacks (when Bush really just hates poor people who can’t give his party money), and now this? This guy is a self-absorbed wack job. Occasionally he puts out a good single (aka Gold Digger), but when he opens his mouth, he sounds like a moron. Someone please just snipe him and put us out of our misery so that we don’t have to deal with his ignorance and his self-absorbed tirades anymore.

The French commentators are all “What the F***?!” And it’s doubly funny because Justice and Simian are French, so the commentators are all excited, and then Kanye gets up there. Too funny! And yes, Kanye needs to chill out *just* a little bit.
I’ll say it again, Worst Rap Act Around. This guy can create some decent music, lyrically he is terrible. I don’t find him in the least bit entertaining unless he does something like this. I hope people start to realize how much of an jerk he is.
