What’s weirder?
A. Kirsten Dunst (pictured, right) is "seriously mulling" the possibility of starring as Debbie Harry (left) in a biopic. (From Daily Variety, very last item.)
B. Tim Burton directed the new Killers video for "Bones." Skeletons: They’re just like us! They go running on the beach, playguitars, wear shades, and pair up for road trips, you know, like in The Simple Life.
C. The Pixies will hit the studio to record their first record since 1991′s Trompe Le Monde. They reunited recently to tour, but they want to become "vital" again instead of stagnating as a "county fair band," says singer Frank Black.

Tough call. B is kind of dumb. C is kind of cool. So I say A, in hopes that it’s not vaild in the first place. The last word I’d think of when I see Kirsten Dunst is "edge," unless it’s immediately followed by "of Seventeen… magazine." Sorry Kirsten. (And no playing Stevie for you, either.)
In terms of physical features alone, I actually think Kirsten Dunst is perfect to play Debrah Harry. She’s an incredibly talented actor to boot and I think she really could pull it off.
In terms of physical features alone, it seems Elisha Cuthbert is perfect to play Debbie Harry (at least based on that photo of her).
So, come on Annie, Dunst may not your favorite,b ut she DOES have skillz (especially compared to other young Hollywood actresses) and more than a passing resemblence…so I don’t think it’s weird at all.
I don’t really think ANY of these are that weird actually.

No offence, Jonathan, but today’s my thirtieth birthday, and that question just made me feel very old.

Anyway, I don’t think it’s weird at all that Frank Black (or is that Black Francis?) and company are heading to the studio.

Either Elisha Cuthbert or Mena Suvari should be playing that, not Dunst.
I nominate courtney love for playing debbie harry even though she’s almost 40. I think the upcoming genesis reunion is weirder than a new pixies cd. Jonathan, if you’ve ever seen fight club, the pixies play at the end of that movie.

Like other posters have noted, Elisha Cuthbert should play Debbie Harry. The resemblance is uncanny.
But Kirsten Dunst should die her hair and cameo as CBGB cohort Patty Smith. Now THAT will be INTERESTING!!

Tim Burton directing a video is kind of weird but I love the song. The current backlash against the Killers is what is weird to me.
I am quite excited for the new Pixies release. They stopped recording way too early. They weren’t hugely popular but they were extremely influential to other musicians.
Kirstin Dunst seems too sweet to play Debbie Harry but that’s why they call it acting.
I always wanted Michelle Pfeiffer to play Debbie Harry.
