Fox has finally made it completely impossible for me to watch baseball. I mean that literally: what they are showing is no longer baseball, rather it is an MTV-like collage of quick camera cuts (the pitcher, the batter, the field, the crowd, the pitcher again, the batter from a different angle, etc. etc.), annoying sound effects (the whoosh that accompanies every graphic, the artificially enhanced whoosh of the pitch and even the return throw from the catcher), five replays of every pitch, endless preachy commentary from Tim McCarver that does little but belabor the obvious, huge distracting virtual ads behind the plate, and of course the endless pop-up promos and other graphics. Where, in all this, is the quiet, contemplative game that baseball used to be?
I think the national sports announcers never have anything good to say about the Sox. Don’t think its right but hey what can you do……
I’m just trying to find a way to get through to network execs in reference to how annoying there tv coverage of the world series is.. I tune in to see the game and your comentaters are talking with managers while players are batting and tonight two players had batted and i didn’t even know who they were until your the broadcasters went back to the game while the 3rd. batter was flyibg out.. IT’S ABOUT WATCHING THE GAME..
Does anyone know what the music Fox is using come in and out of commercial breaks?
i am wondering about the music too. it sounds olympicsesque
I was wondering about the music too… is it the soundtrack from Apollo 13?
Its from the Jurassic Park Movie
its the Welcome to Jurassic Park theme… kinda corny that they used that

Thanks for solving the mystery. I never would have guessed Jurrasic Park. It’s a great day…
I agree totally that the Fox announcers are AWFUL and we skipped all the Fox pregame shows purposely. They have to go!!All of the World Series commercials were awful too, especially the Chevrolet Malibu ad where the woman keeps running into the car as it is supposed to be invisible. It is horrible. How stupid do they think we are??
Joe Buck needs to move over to commentating infomercials.
I am a very mature 46 year old and I thought the football robot hitting batting practice advertising the World Series was HILARIOUS!! Pardon my flashback to youth and humor.

Wow, there are people who agree with me that Tim McCarver BLOWS and Jack Buck SUCKS. If I even watch the FOX coverage of the World Series at all, I mute the TV sound, then listen to the local broadcasters on an old fashion, AM analog radio, or I have my mp3 player playing pleasant music in my ears rather than torture myself with McCarver or Buck. Or I’ll just read all about it in the newspaper the next day.
I was thoroughly disgusted with the pro-TB commentary of Buck and McCarver. They are totally non-objective. When the Phils do something well, according to them it is because TB did something wrong; and when TB does well, it is because TB is talented. Awful.
Sick of them both. Tim McCarver to this day still holds a grudge after being released by the Phillies and that was nearly thirty years ago. As far as game start times, why not move it up at least by a half hour or hour.
I am, admittedly, a Phillies “playoffs and series only” kind of fan and can barely tolerate most of what commentators have to say during the regular season pro ball games let alone during championship games. In all of my years watching any kind of pro sports, I’ve never heard such biased banter for one team or the other as in Fox’s coverage of the current World Series. Undertones are one thing, but a blatant, out-and-out slant toward one team (in this case Tampa Bay) is commentating at its worst . Fox’s commentators are redundant and insincere. Turning down the sound and listening to local radio is the way to go for sure! GO PHILLIES!!!!
Does anyone know the name of the music used for the world series promo commercial that Fox has been playing during the Dallas game?
