This just in from the Department of Refreshingly Honest Celebrities: Daniel Radcliffe may be the face of one of the most profitable and beloved movie franchises of our time, but (hallelujah!) it doesn’t seem to have turned the artist frequently known as Harry Potter into a frightening Celebumonster. Here’s what he tells Newsweek magazine about his earliest film roles: "I would like to look back at them in 10 or 20 years and possibly cringe a little bit. I wasn’t an actor when I was 11, really. I was just a kid having the time of his life." Sweet, right? Let’s just hope Radcliffe’s humility (nor his amusing self-deprecation; see his forthcoming cameo on Extras) isn’t part of an ingenious PR campaign to disarm the moviegoing public before announcing his eight-figure film deal with a major studio and clothing line joint-venture with Baby Phat’s Kimora Lee Simmons.

Not to mention that he’s actually going to be nude on stage for Equus.
Can he please turn 18 already, so I can stop feeling gross for thinking he’s hot (fyi, I’m 24…)
I adore Daniel! Sometimes I think he’s more put together than I am.
Dave, I’m right there with ya (and I’m 37)
Love Daniel – I’m 42. There is a Daniel Radcliffe countdown to 18 website, don’t remember exactly you can Google it.
He’s probably going to look back on his film roles in 10 to 20 years and cringe a lot because he cannot act to save his life.

An interview with Daniel Radcliffe – aka – Harry Potter.
I’m really glad to see I’m not the only person over 22 who thinks he’s cute. I love reading his interviews. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, and he seems to have his head on straight. Don’t change, Dan!

I love Dan as well and I’m 23 but I prefer Rupert though…
Am I the only person who looks at young actors like Daniel, and holds their breath? I just keep thinking, “Don’t pull a Lindsey Lohan. Don’t pull a Lindsey Lohan.” One minute they seem level-headed, talented, and mature beyond their years…..and then they become obsessed with partying and celebrity. It sounds like Daniel won’t head down that road. I hope it stays that way!
Anna — I used to agree with you. I personally think that Chris Columbus ruined the first to films by encouraging the young actors to ham it up and do a lot of demonstrating. I read an article (in EW, perhaps?) where Daniel pretty much acknowledges that he discovered what it really means to act when they did the third film, and the new (and far superior) director really worked with him and was able to create some very real moments. And now he is a film buff which can only help.
The “Extras” clip is absolutely hilarious and only makes me love Daniel more – it’s great that he apparently doesn’t take himself too seriously and isn’t afraid to spoof himself. Of course, the fact that he’s coming on to an older woman doesn’t hurt either! (I’m 41) The Newsweek interview is great, too. Hope he can always keep such a clear head on his shoulders.
Thaaaaaaaaat’s not work safe.
