I am with others in the fact that, who the hell cares where it came from. I love this show and can’t wait to see how everything happens!!
I agree w/ Giselle…please put recaps on for this show…it has tons of potential. So much more interesting than Studio 60. What’s there to speculate about in that show?
Let’s face it: the “people with super powers” thing has been done. A lot. What makes Heroes interesting thus far is not the specific powers that these people have, but their personalities. I mean, how can you not love Hiro and Claire? It’s also neat that these characters aren’t quite “heroes” yet. They’re just ordinary people who somehow have super powers. And then there’s the overall plot mystery. How are all of these people going to come together to stop the big ol’ explosion? And what’s up with the guy taking people’s brains?
Heroes has things in common with other super hero shows/books/comics, sure, but it’s been interesting and unique enough so far!
BTW, to those who were asking, the strand of DNA is known as a “double helix.”
Lisa-
The double helix showed up once before that, too. When Hiro wandered into the artist’s studio to question about the comic he starred, the artist had random paintings of the symbol everywhere.

The sign of a buzz worthy show-a lawsuit
I don’t know about the specific similarities, but it’s not like the show’s concept is terribly new anyway. I’m not saying it’s not good, because so far it’s been promising. I’m just saying I don’t think it’s that strange for two different people to come up with a “a bunch of people have superpowers” story.
THERE IS A REAL LIVING ARTIST WHO CAN PAINT THE FUTURE BEFORE IT HAPPENS LIVING IN NEW YORK CITY, HIS NAME IS EELE. I SAW HIM AT HUNTER COLLEGE NEW YORK CITY ON APRIL 22,2005.
ONE OF THE STUDENT ARTS CLUB AT HUNTER COLLEGE INVITED EELE TO PRESENT HIS PREMONITION ART.
AT THE HUNTER COLLEGE PRESENTATION EELE SHOWED HIS PREMONITION ART ON KATRINA AND RITA (YOU MAY REMEMBER THAT KATRINA AND RITA HAPPENED IN AUGUST 2005). BECAUSE OF EELE’S PREMONITION ART I WAS ABLE TO MOVE MY FAMILY OUT OF HARM’S WAY, MONTH’S BEFORE BOTH STORMS HIT.
EELE ALSO SHOWED ART WORK THAT HE WAS STILL WORKING ON ABOUT A BUS BLOWING UP IN TIMES SQUARE NEW YORK CITY BECAUSE OF TERRORISM. ( ON HEROES, ISSAC’S BUS BLOWS UP IN ISRAEL BECAUSE OF TERRORISM). EELE ALSO SHOWED ARTWORK ON SEPTEMBER 11,2001 THAT HE PAINTED IN JANUARY 2001. HE TOLD THE AUDIENCE HOW HE AND HIS TWIN HAD COME TO NEW YORK CITY TO STOP SEPTEMBER 11,2001 WITH THEIR PREMONITION ART BEFORE IT HAPPENED. ( THIS PRESENTATION AT HUNTER COLLEGE WAS WRITTEN UP IN THE HUNTER COLLEGE NEWSPAPER “THE ENVOY” ON MAY 11,2005). ON HEROES, HIRO AND HIS FRIEND HAS LEFT JAPAN TO TRAVEL TO NEW YORK CITY TO WARN NEW YORKERS ABOUT A FUTURE NUCLEAR BLAST THAT WILL DESTROY NEW YORK CITY, JUST AS THE TWINS DID WITH SEPTEMBER 11,2001.( HIRO AND HIS FRIEND ARRIVE IN LAS VEGAS DRESSED IN THE SAME “TWIN” SUITS).
EELE TALKED ABOUT ALL THE ISSUES HE AND HIS TWIN FACED TRYING TO BRING HIS PREMONITION ART ABOUT SEPTEMBER 11,2001 TO THE PUBLIC AND THE POLICE’S ATTENTION. ( ON HEROES ISSAC AND ALL THE HEROES HAVE THESE SAME ISSUES).THERE IS A ARTICLE ABOUT EELE AND THESE ISSUES IN THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS DATED AUGUST 5,2004 AND THE JEWISH WORLD REVIEW DATED AUGUST 6,2004.
TO READ THE ARTICLE LOG ON TO:
http://www.jewishworldreview.com/0804/grove080604.asp
FROM THE GATHERING AT HUNTER COLLEGE, THERE SEEMS TO BE A GROWING NETWORK OF PEOPLE LEARNING ABOUT AND RESPECTING EELE’S PREMONITION ART. I HAVE ONLY FOUND TWO ARTICLES ON EELE, BUT I AM SEARCHING FOR MORE AND I WILL POST INFO IF I FIND ANY.
TIM KRING HAS SAID IN INTERVIEW AFTER INTERVIEW THAT HE CAME UP WITH THE STORY IDEA FOR HEROES IN OCT- NOV 2005. I BELIEVE THAT TIM KRING COPIED EELE’S STORY AND HIS ART WORK. AS I WATCH HEROES, TIM KRING IS STARTING TO LOOK MORE AND MORE LIKE JAMES FREY, THE AUTHOR OF A MILLION LITTLE PIECES WHO WENT ON THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW AND LIED ABOUT HIS LIFE AND HIS BOOK.I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST HEROES THE TV SHOW, BUT I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A WRITER CLAIMING HE CREATED A STORY OR A CHARACTER THAT HE DIDN’T! HOW IS TIM KRING THE CREATOR OF ISSAC, WHEN EELE EXHIBITS PREMONITION ART IN CHELSEA GALLERIES IN NEW YORK CITY? HOW IS TIM KRING THE CREATOR OF THE HEROES STORY WHEN EELE AND HIS TWIN CAME TO NEW YORK CITY TO STOP 9-11-01 AND WAS WRITTEN UP IN A MAJOR NEW YORK DAILY NEWSPAPER FOR DOING SO TWO YEARS BEFORE THERE WAS ANY TV SHOW CALLED HEROES OR A HIRO ON HIS WAY TO NEW YORK CITY TO STOP A FICTIONAL BLAST.
