I know that education is severely lacking in this country, and that most American children, sadly, cannot find China on a map, let alone Kazakhstan. Read the full post.

So we should only make fun of rich people? That doesn’t seem very egalitarian.
Hey, if nothing else, Borat saved the U.S. from that crazy politician in Mississippi that was running for congress a couple of years ago. When he got him to say on camera that all jews would burn in hell, that destroyed any chance that wacko had at public office.
I saw the movie in Toronto. Fantastic.
He has a History degree from Cambridge….the man is brilliant.
Heck, I knew that! If you know who Ali G. is, then you should know who Borat is.
Kazakhstan’s government needs to stop frontin’. Borat’s given that country a much friendlier image and more press than any other event in the last twenty years, including Kazakhstan’s independence and the Russian Space program (which sends its rockets out of Kazakhstan).
If they want some better press, the government of Kazakhstan should fund some artists to do some movies about that country, and show us what it’s really like.
As for Borat, he’s a character, and is clearly meant to be a parody of Eastern European tourists. He makes fun of a lot of our customs and challanges his interviewees at their core beliefs. The man is hilarious and enjoyable to watch, and I hope the movie lives up to the trailers.
Hey, according to this documentary I saw on the National Geographic Project – DNA testing has shown all Europeans and Native Americas are descendents of a tribe in Kazakhstan. So is there a little Borat in many of us?
