Jane is Fonda Lindsay Lohan

Categories: Film

153246__fonda_lAh, Jane Fonda.  Always has to have an opinion.  At least this time, it’s one the whole country can agree with: Lindsay Lohan needs to slow it down a bit. (The two are starring together in Georgia Rule, a movie most famous for being the one where the producer sent a note home with La Lohan to get signed by her mom stating that her conduct in class was inappropriate.)

So, if you’re keeping score, this — combined with the unfortunate paparazzi shots circling the web at the moment (will not link to those, you can find them for yourselves if you’re really that interested) — officially marks the point at which Lindsay’s life became a quagmire.

I am happy that fellow actors are speaking out, rather than just acting oblivious…that obviously hasn’t worked in the past. The issues are her health and the disrespect that her behavior shows to all affected. A box of cupcakes doesn’t compensate for showing everyone that you do not value their time.Clearly people are commenting b/c she has too much talent for them to just let her fall by the wayside…it is such a shame that the people she needs most are the ones that are the quickest to make excuses for her. Isn’t it a shame that her mother’s name and picture are now connected with most stories, and they are usually within the context of being her party buddy or “she’s young!” enabler.

I can’t express how sick of her I am. I’ll be happy if I never see her in another movie again. her mom is an idiot for just giving her excuses after she was hospitalized for “exaustion” for a second time. So she’s young enough to get away with missing work, but old enough to party (among other things) almost every night. And if her asthma is so bad, why are there a million pics of her smoking cigarretts on the internet? And hey, isn’t alcohol not so great for your respiratory system? Or is she too young to know that?

come on, I’m not a huge Lindsay fan, but isn’t she 20 yrs old? Let her make her mistakes and she’ll learn from them. Isn’t that how life works people?

  • Big Momma

Jane Fonda does not have too much room to talk about anyone’s behavior. I am from the generation that knew her as HANOI JANE. As far as I am concerned, she would be wise to take a step back and keep her mouth shut.

Curiosity killed the cat and blinded me for life. Whitney, I understand now why you didn’t link the picture. I regret even going in search of it (It definitely wasn’t hard to find). I’m punishing myself with 20 lashes. Argh!

I have nothing against Jane Fonda (she’s done great movies and I read her book and it made me like her even more) but why feel sorry for Lindsay Lohan?? I admit that I’ve gone out to party at times when I knew that I had to get up at 5 am to go to work but I still went in. I didn’t call in and say to my boss, “I’m so exhausted…can I have the day off??” HELL NO!! I didn’t care how little sleep I got (once, I even went in without any sleep) but I still showed up. The only time I didn’t show up was when I hurt myself the day before at work and they gave the weekend off, and I got really sick and needed to go to the hospital. If acting is such a burden to her, why doesn’t she move back to Middle America and get a real job: working at the Gap!! Enough said.

She talks all the time about wanting to do more “adult” and “mature” roles, always lets everyone know she’s not a kid anymore, and then when she gets herself into trouble, her mom turns around and goes, “give her a break– she’s only 20.” If you say you’re an adult, act like one. Don’t miss work and then turn around and play the “i’m young!” card.
I honestly can’t see her having the longevity or taste that a Jodie Foster (or a Kirsten Dunst, for that matter) has had.

I’m going to put myself on the line and give La Lohan the benefit of the doubt. I think she really believes in this role and is going to do sooo much publicity for it so she can win an Otsker. From what I’ve been hearing the script is really good, she’s talented and can play the role.
I think displaying her sn*tch for everyone to see is also a Madonna’esque type of publicity shot. We’re all ponds in the La Lohan pool of celebrity.
P.S, if you haven’t seen the pics and are really curious go to Perezhilton.com, look up Lindsey under her full name and not under Sn*tch Queen.

  • Ed

    Sn*tch,
Sorry but had to say it just one more time, that word is FUNNY!

Jane Fonda feels sorry for Lindsay because Lindsay’s been through a lot of crap the last few years thanks to her crazy father. She’s doing a bad job of handling it at the moment. I think it’s great that people are getting involved. I remember reading a story some years ago where Brad Renfro was chasing his tutor around a movie set with a chainsaw or something like that. Everyone knew he was in trouble and didn’t do anything. Since then it seems like he’s spent most of his time in and out of jail.

It’s about damn time someone stopped coddling and kissing actor’s butts. Bottom line-it’s a job. Like any other job, if you’re late or miss time because of your off time “antics”, it costs your company money & is a hardship on your c0-workers. Hollywwod is finally waking up. First there was the scaling back of the multi million dollar salaries of over rated actors, Cruise getting the boot from Paramount, and Lohan being knocked back a few notches.

  • pn

Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Tara Reid, Olsen Twins, Nicole Bitchie, Anti Christ, oh…they are all the same.

Jen, I gotta ask, was use of the word “cat” an intentional pun?
It’s a shame to me that Lindsay’s personal life seems to be overshadowing her. IMHO, she’s a pretty talented actress (I liked her in “Mean Girls” anyway), so it would make sense that her co-workers may express concern for her. Clearly, what Lindsay needs is a more grown up entourage that relies less on the LA party circuit and a good character acting role. It might help her to buy a cabin in Oregon or Idaho and spend at least two weeks out of every month as far from the press as possible too. Tired as she is of the paparrazzi is about as tired as I am of reading about her in the tabloids.

  • dma69

If Lindsay wants to be seen as an adult, it would help for her to do the following:
    1) Stop partying all the time
    2) Stop hanging around Paris and crew
    3) Dump mommy as manager; she’s just as bad a jailbird daddy
    4) Show up on time and well rested EVERY TIME

  • Jen

Ep, the pun was completely unintentional. I was in too much shock after seeing Lohan’s ‘lady parts’ to be witty or corny.

  • Ep Sato

Jen, I totally agree that they showed maybe a little too much Lindsay.
It’s great to know that Lindsay is a fan of “going commando”, but it’s TMI and the photo is little mean spirited. Also agreed that it’s best there be no link to it…

Well here’s the thing. Hitting bottom for someone with this much money and no parents or emotional/psychological support to speak of could be an extremely ugly thing. It’s not the same as the generalized stupidity of regular, unmoneyed 20-year-olds.
And who better than Jane Fonda – who got smacked upside her head and turned into a thing by fame – to step in and do some much-needed mentoring (albeit in print)?
Lindsay is a very talented person, but she’s taking the fast boat to nowhere, and no one in her life seems to be willing or able to intervene. The people who are publicly commenting on her situation are clearly alarmed.
Better for LaFonda to make some noise, even if it falls on drug-and-fame plugged ears, than to sit back and pretend that this young woman doesn’t have a death wish.

  • Rose

Lindsey should try to be a little more careful because her asking price for showing it in a movie just went WAAAY down!
Also, I must say that as a hetro woman it might not be my place to judge these things but that was about as unsexy a sight as I’ve ever seen, she ain’t no Sharon Stone, that’s for sure!

  • aa

first of all she’s what 19 or 20? i’m glad that i don’t have to be judged as a human being for the dumb stuff i did then. plus when you take into considerination that her father’s an alcoholic and that her mother is trying to live through her i think she’s doing okay. if either jane fonda or the executive were really concerned for her welfare they would have talked to her directly not in the press. besides if she was such a disruptive force on the set why not replace her? sounds like free publicity to me.

  • john

being 19 or 20 is no excuse to miss work. no matter how old you are, don’t take the job on if you can’t handle it.

I’m all for giving Lindsay Lohan the benefit of the doubt. She is a young adult with crappy parents and seems to be the sole provider of her family. A lot of people would act out in those circumstances. However, it is affecting her work. I will admit to calling in when not really sick, but I was not getting paid 7 mil for a couple months of work. Dammit. Maybe now that her co-stars whom she professing love and respect for are publicly speaking about her problems she will take it to heart instead of listening to her jackass mother who seems to be telling her she does no wrong.
And those pix…Jay-ZUS! First, boo boo, ok. Second? WTF?
