Wonder Woman, all the world is still waiting for you (and the power you possess). Question is, do your powers include warbling "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" while simultaneously truth-lassoing Simon Cowell and deflecting laryngitis attacks with your bracelets? Yes, Katharine McPhee is the latest name to surface in the search for a suitable big-screen Wonder Woman. She joins Kate Beckinsale, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sandra Bullock, Eliza Dushku, Rebecca Romijn, and Jessica Biel. Scuttlebutt is, she’s posing on the cover of Shape just to show she’s got the bod for that notorious wonderkini.
I have absolutely no knowledge of Ms. McPhee’s acting ability, so I’ll simply say this: If picked, she will be the closest thing we’ll ever have to a democratically elected Wonder Woman.

PLease not Katharine….not woith that pug NOSE!
Anyome but Kat!!! I am so sick of her
I’m sure she’s been mentioned, but no one with any vested interest in the Wonder Woman movie has mentioned Katherine McPhee as a contender for the leading role. And the same goes for Bryce Dallas Howard. Honestly. Don’t you know this is how rumors get started?
I’ve never read the comics or even care about the character, but a movie version could be interesting.
Beckinsale would be a good choice, as would Sandra Bullock. Its nice that her name is still in the running, as shes not a kid anymore, and the industry would normally want someone about 10 years younger…at least! Go, Sandra!
A couple weeks ago, imdb had Morena Baccarin from Firefly as having nabbed the role. That’s disappeared now, however. I think she’d be great, although I don’t know how deep her acting skills go…
Not that it’s a bad thing, but WW should not be a chipmunked-cheek cutie (sorry, Mandy Moore). She should be exotic, statuesque and look a little Mediterranean if possible (Amazon is from the Greek mythology). For those who doubt Morena Baccarin, check out Serenity or the Firefly DVD’s; you’ll be glad you did. She’s stunning, and she’d do a great job.
I don’t know if she’s the age they’re going for, but Catherine Zeta-Jones is still the ideal for this role. If not her, Rhona Mitra from Boston Legal.
Sandra Bullock as Wonder Woman? not unless she’s playing one of the older sisters who lives on Paradise Island. Kat would be great, especially with that big cheesy smile Linda Carter use to end the show with; they both have the same face.
But I believe that Wonder Woman should be played by a thin twenty something. Kat needs her cheeks sucked in AND her nose touched up.
I’ve said it a thousand times, and I’ll say it again. LUCY LAWLESS. The only thing going against her is she’s a touch long in the tooth. But she is hands down the best choice over all these other contenders
As someone who lasted the entire season completely immune to McPheever, please no!!! I know that she had returned to LA pre-Idol to pursue acting, so perhaps she has talent, I just can’t see even the fiercest of lasers being able to penetrate her icy aloofness. I still think Emily Deschanel would be a groovy choice.
By the way, check out the cover of the latest Town & Country…I swear Jacinda Barrett and Kat totally look like sisters!
I’ll admit, I liked Kat on IDOL. But can she even act? She did that music video/commercial with Kermit, does that qualify her for WONDER WOMAN?
What next, Taylor Hicks in the next Robert Altman film? Ace and Bucky in THE ODD COUPLE on Broadway?
As for the other choices listed, if Joss Whedon is still doing it (haven’t heard anything in a while) Eliza Dushku, Faith in BUFFY, seems to be the best choice.
Katharine is in need of a chhk reduction..and a
nose joB.
Kat would be the worst choice! My vote would go to Charisma Carpenter or Amy Acker
Let’s get someone unknown (like what Superman, X-Men, and Spiderman-though Tobey Maguire wasn’t that famous- all did for their leads) and it would be perfect!
Hey don’t knock the cheeks…remember those rosy poofs on Linda Carter? Yeah, well, you should….
Anyways, I don’t really know who should play Wonder Woman…there’s been so many names thrown into the mix… once upon a time, I even entertained Mariah Carey in the role…while not an OBVIOUS choice, an interesting one nevertheless…
lookswise, I’d say if there was a biopic of Sally Field’s life and they were casting for the Gidget years, McPhee is a shoe in…
