What's next for 'Entourage'?

15046__entourage_lFirst off, congratulations to the energetic Jeremy Piven, Entourage‘s Ari Gold (at left), for his Emmy win. This oughta take the sting out of that Cupid cancellation once and for all.

But secondly, well, what now? By tonight, Emmy watchers will be TiVo’d up on last night’s Entourage… and they’ll realize that this award comes at a critical time for Piven’s character. I’m not going to spoil anything for latecomers,* but we’re left with some big questions about next season — and about Ari.

What’s going to happen now? More important, what should happen in season 4?

*Ari is messily eaten by Malcolm Macdowell, in wolf form.**
**This is a lie.

At first, I was going to say, don’t you mean season 4, but according to tv.com, the next set of episodes starting in March of 2007 are going to be the second half of season 3.
Back to the question at hand, Vince should finally land a movie, considering he hasn’t worked at all in season 3.

I want to see that Ramones movie made no matter what! The teaser scenes for Aquaman made me want to live in the world of Entourage.
My hope is that next season is all Johnny Drama and Turtle. Now that Drama’s got a pilot, it’d be cool if a few eps featured a small comeback for him. I’d also love to see an ep (or part of an ep) of Viking Quest.
Ari will be back. He always finds a way to make things right.
As for Vince and Erik? Vince is much like the actor his character is based on, Mark Wahlberg. While the cat doesn’t always keep himself in the limelight, every now and then he’ll do a pic worth watching. And I gotta assume the Ramones movie experience is based on what they went through making “Rockstar”.
Erik’s relationship needs more depth. The fight with Seth Green was awesome, but there wasn’t enough follow up. And just how will that relationship complicate the relationship between the other characters? There hasn’t been enough of that “you spend too much time with your girlfriend” stuff that buddies always fight over.
But, like most Entourage fans, I’ll take whatever the writers give me. This season’s roller coaster really was nothing but peaks and valleys, and it stinks to have to wait nearly a year to see what is next.

I love the show, and last night’s episode. It sort of seems like Ari doesn’t really need Vince anymore. He is building up the big agency, and Vince seems like he could become a faded star. With the AQUAMAN 2 fiasco, and publicly dissing the new QUEENS BLVD release, he may be too much work for Ari, and not really worth it.
Meanwhile, Johnny Drama remains with Ari, and his career may be taking off.
That would actually be an interesting development.
I think I’m probably going to be more excited for ENTOURAGE’s return than THE SOPRANOS.

I’m confused too, what’s up with this season 3 business?
I thought the ending was kind of out of character for Hollywood. I don’t think an actor like Vince would care who is repping him as long as his name is a “brand”. Firing Ari after he apologized didn’t sit right with me.
All in all, Jeremy deserved the Emmy.

“Bob” didn’t actually sign over the “Ramones” script to Warner’s. He knows they have no intention of making it. He needs to be “wanted” again, and Ari REALLY needs him…now. This is how he’ll get Vince back as a client. He’ll find a studio that wants to make the film (with Vince starring), and Bob producing.

What’s gonna happen is Tarantino will cast Johnny Drama in his next flick and revive him a la Travolta. The movie will feature Drama getting gang-raped by some hoods and get him a supporting oscar nom, which he loses but hey – he’s back.

Since Bruno Kirby passed, his producer character will as well. The Pablo E. script will make it’s way to another producer who Ari convinces Vince should play the title role. This gets him hired back as Vince’s agent, as this is Vince’s dream role.

I thought so far Vince has been kind of boring during Season 3. I would like to see his stock fade a bit and have him crawling back to Ari. Ari is the only reason to watch Entourage. The firing of Ari was definitely premature.

i don’t think good ol’ bob signed that script over either. anyway as long as next season has more drama, i’m game!

  • Miles

I think Ari should move on, really, he should get his hands on the new Aquaman actor and sign him, and get his hands on all of Vince’s dream projects and start setting them up with other actors in his agency… so that Vince, has to come crawling back and beg him to represent him.
Also I think we should have an interesting backstory with the New Aquaman actor, who is an old nemesis of Vince’s and who is somehow after all of Vince’s things, including the house… so that we have a major battle of actor egos in the brewing.
Anyway, I personally cannot wait to see what happens. One of my favorite shows. Jeremy Piven is my God. Okay maybe that’s over selling it, but he’s very, very good.

Jermey Piven used to be an underated yet very talented character actor. When he won my Mom and I both cheered. Cupid should have gone to HBO but you know what, with Ari he’s in his zone. When the show ends, maybe finally he’ll get his own sitcom.
