Cheese aficionados, mark your calendars: We’re officially less than a month away from the Sept. 12 season premiere of Dancing With the Stars, and the cast for the show’s third installment got announced on today’s Good Morning America. The 11 folks who’ll straddle the tricky line between career rehabilitation and immolation include: Jerry Springer, Vivica A. Fox, MSNBC host Tucker Carlson (as Susman warned you Friday), Blossom‘s Joseph ”Joey” Lawrence, NFL star Emmit Smith, Saved by the Bell‘s Mario Lopez (pictured), one-hit wonder Willa ”I Wanna Be Bad” Ford, High School Musical‘s Monique Coleman, country star Sara Evans, Harry Hamlin (husband of the show’s new co-host, Lisa Rinna), and Shanna Moakler of Meet the Barkers.
Now seeing as former pop heartthrobs Joey McIntyre and Drew Lachey finished third and first respectively in DWTS‘ first two seasons, I’d say Lawrence has a good shot to go far this year, provided he brings what he brung to his super-dope video for 1993′s ”Nothin My Love Can’t Fix.” Ch-ch-check it.
That said, aren’t all these chumps really running for second money up against Copperhead? Seriously, the way Vivica A. Fox’s middle initial puts the "A" in ass-kicking, she could probably slay that bow-tied talking-head dude with a simple sideways glance, don’tcha think? Carrie Ann Inaaaahhhba, you’ve been warned.
Oh my gosh, I never ever thought I would watch this show but with that line up I just might.
I have always been a closeted big fan of Joey Lawerence – even when I was in the closet. I think he is hot hot hot! Would love to see him and Ricky Martin together.
Slater us to do a lot of break dancing in Saved By the Bell, so he should do pretty good.
I’m gonna Tivo this season.
Oooh this is good. I’m excited for Shanna Moakler. She needs a little pick-me-up right now. However, if she plans on being as lazy as she was on Meet the Barkers, then she’ll be the first to go. Hamlin might turn out to be a ringer – I’m sure he’s been practicing. I think my money’s gonna be on Slater. He’s latin – those boys can move.
I’m totally giddy that Mario Lopez will be participating… even before, uh, “Wowing” us with his dancing on Saved By The Bell he started out as a supporting cast dancer on the kids show KIDS, INC. — which I totally was addicted to as a kid.
Can’t wait!
Don’t forget that Slater also played a Latin dance teacher in an episode of Popular – he should do quite well between that, Saved by the Bell, and Kids, Inc!
First, let me start by saying that I am not a regular viewer of DWTS. This is mainly because of the time slot that it is in. I think that it would definitely spice up the show if one of the dances that was performed was an Urban/Hip-Hop number. It was definitely attract a lot of younger viewers. Just look at the success that “Step Up” had this week-end.
Jerry Springer??? Cool, do you think they will be fist fights?
The show isn’t about urban/hip hop dancing though. That is what So You Think. . . is for. Besides, I really don’t want to see Jerry Springer getting down with his bad self!

Wow, I can totally see Joey Lawrence and Ricky Martin as a couple. But, seriously, this is A.C. Slater’s competition to lose. Random thought: Does Mario Lopez have some serious dirt on TV big whigs? He’s starring on Dancing with the Stars, and I thought I remember hearing he would be joining the cast of Lost. I also remember reading that he would be on Nip/Tuck as a possible flame of Dr. Troy’s. Can anyone confirm? And I swear I am not obsessed with Mario Lopez….
Thank goodness Dancing With The Stars is returning. I love that show. I wonder if Harry will do as well as Lisa did…NAH.
