My son Ray skated with girl for Peaches & Herb. Vallery Harpr was guest Host. Talked to themn, remember the kids but hadc no ciopy. Found Peach’s & Herbs new recording studio & odf course they remembered as they skated to a new song for them. He wass 18 & now Disabled & 50. He wants the show so desperratly. He was a teacher, but legs are shot & he can’t even teach. I desperatly PRAY that someone maybe recorded it baxck then & could get me a copy. I’ll pay. The show was 5-5-80.. I afterr 100 printed pages found who had the archives. They want $300 as it was never ?? re mastered. I am soo fearfull it may get lost or errased unless they can’t. So, this is my heart dream for my son. I also am disabled & can’t work, I;’ll pay for a copy if anyone can find me one. As I said Vallery Harper was the guest Host & they roller skated for “Peaches& Herb” We share this comp )) ((( also. TRying so hard to delete everything I do. Thanks to whoever & anyone that can tery & help, Ma Bonnie

I was Mike’s personal photographer for 15 years, both in Philadelphia and Hollywood. People used to ask me if he was as nice as he appeared on t.v. I told them “he was nicer!” What you saw on t.v. is what he was. Friendly, caring and a devoted family man. Say what you want about the show, but you can never say a bad thing about Mike because he never had anything but praise and warmth for the people he met, both on or off the screen. Shame on Entertainment Weekly for removing my posts in favor of these shamelessly emotional tributes to this deceased hack.
Bottom line – if you are amused by pies being thrown in a guy’s face, or by anyone named “Soupy”, you are flat out stupid. No exceptions to this rule.
I do respect Douglas for one thing – being able to collect top dollar for twenty years with no talent whatsoever. Nice work if you can get it.

Enough, MJ. You don’t like the show? Okay, you and Harry are entitled to not like it. But there’s a fine line between not liking a show and spewing hatred. THAT line you definitely crossed. Now just settle down and let the rest of us that DO like the show enjoy our memories. Thank you.

Echoing the first comment – Karen – I did the same thing. Came home, watched Mike Douglas. You might be old if… when you grew up there were only 3 networks and you remember The Mike Douglas Show. I’m glad his final years were enjoyable. He deserved it.

I used to come home everyday from school and watch “The Mike Douglas Show”. His show is a very specific memory of my childhood. I thought the week that John Lennon and Yoko Ono guest-hosted was unforgettable. May you rest in peace, friend.

mike douglas? didn’t he play in Wall Street and the streets of san diego?
i likes him in that show, where he beats the hell out of big-nose karl malden, then throws grenades into oncoming traffic and eats oatmeal w/ fiber//
