I just ate a 2 oz. bag of Cheetos, and am currently experiencing dangerous levels of self-loathing. Read the full post.

Oh lordy – who is guiding Clay through his career? Does nobody at his lable think he can appeal to more than middle-aged women? Yikes. I know he will actually sing the songs well (doesn’t he always?), but why not create some really great original music for him to sing? Why not try and create some buzz with the younger peeps and have him work with some more contemporary writers/producers? Whatever. He and his lable probably view this as a no-brainer when it comes to sales (at least initially) and don’t care about developing him as an artist. I just wish he would try to bring something besides cheese to the pot-luck – know what I’m sayin?

So I clicked on the Fantasia performance. Sleazak – get the word to her to stop with the yeah yeah yeahs and the dramatics and the singing through the teeth. If she would just sing a song straight up, I might have more respect for her.

Who the hell IS Clay Aiken?

  • stay-puft

    Crap-tacular!
Is this Clay’s penance for his webcam stripteases for dudes and lying to his Christian fans about his virtue?
    Branson, MO here he comes!

All I can think of to say (without saying what I really would like to say) is that I am not quite sure how one can judge Clay Aiken’s upcoming CD based soley on the track listing, without even having heard it yet. Your remark about Fantasio owning “Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word” almost made me choke. In my circle Fantasia is known simply as the screacher. I reserve judgement on any CD until I at least hear it and you should do the same. Shame on you.

Ohhhh Yeah..I can’t wait to get this album. I’ve already heard snippets of about 3 songs off this CD and they were upbeat and sounded awesome. One would only expect this of Clay Aiken. He has the best voice I’ve ever heard and when he was on ET a couple of days ago on his new photo-shoot..WOW..Holy Crap..is that guy sexy or not. Too bad there isn’t more men around like him..sex appeal..personality and such charisma on the stage.

Clay has the best musical range of any singer – ever!!! This cd is about the many ways to show love; thus, the album title “A Thousand Different Ways”. And he can sing any kind of music and make it his own. He will rock the world with this cd and I can’t wait to rock!

Everytime You Go Away was covered by Paul Young. It is originally a Hall & Oates song.

  • Melodi

Can’t stand it can you? Clay is already at #l at Amazon, & Barnes&Noble. Something your ‘pet’ Fantasia, will never see!

  • Jane

Now Nell, there you go stereotyping the Clay fans. This is about the CD. He can make anything sound good.
Michael S., Do you have to show your bias every time you write about Clay? It seems like such lazy journalism.

  • gp

I plan to reserve judgement until I actually hear CLAY sing these tracks, but I’m banking on loving them. I mean, the guy does covers better than any other artist I know.

  • Kelly

Clay Aiken can sing the shiznit out of any song…and THAT is sexy!

  • Kristen

Look, the guy’s got one hell of a voice and I think it’s a shame to pan him for doing covers. Jessica Simpson’s last three smash hits were all maimed remakes of tracks that had seen better days. Michael Buble is slowly taking over the entire world by bringing the standards back into the limelight. A
nd if you’re honestly telling me that the over-produced, synthesizer rape that is Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack” is more appealing to you than a man who can actually use the vocal chords he was blessed with for material than repeating “Go ‘head, be confident” ad nauseum, then ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the death of quality music as we know it.
Give the kid a break. Cheesy? Maybe? But he’s doing what works for him and he’s doing it with class.

  • Sandy

If cheese sucks so bad, then explain why Clive, Bon Jovi & a slew of industry talents would put work into Clay’s cd?
Micheal, you’re smoking those Cheetos w/ your biased comments. choke on your self loathing, I find it amusing.

  • Joe

Its really sad that you didn’t mention the new songs or that Clay co-wrote one of them. Shame on you. How can you critique something before it is released?
Come on people. Some of you are showing your hate already. Very obvious.
