Hatari was a good movie. He was good in The Longest Day, too, as the paratrooper hung up on the church steeple.
Red Buttons was a fantastic comic. He will be greatly missed but I bet he has them already ROCL (rolling on clouds laughing). Rest in peace.
Red was like an uncle to me. 65 years ago he was gonna marry my cousin miriam. when i met red 15 years ago i related the story and told him all my life my family says you were gonna marry my cousin.. he said Miriam……
we kept in touch since then………he will be missed……. i hope he finally
gets a dinner up there. sm
I have loved this man and all of the movies that he has been in, on the big screen or small. I can still remember him laughing and dancing in to my heart as a child.
His porformance in Sayonara was the only time that I cried and hated an ending to any movie that he was in. He made me think and want to change the world for the better because of it.
He is and always will be my most favorite actor that has ever lived. I shall miss him, and I feel that the world will never be the same now that the great one is gone. I wish he’s family to know that Red will be missed by all that loved him and what he gave to the world. I send my best wished and peace to them all.
That you for making me smile though the years Mr Buttons. Rest in Peace, and may dinner come in a divine way for you
Would it be tacky if they played the PCD’s song Buttons at the funeral???
My memories of him will be as kid and young adult. He made us all laugh and he understood that laughter was an important part of life and always should be. Heaven is having a ball right now.
I would like to give your Famliy My deepest condolences on your loss of a Great Man , RED BUTTONS , I remember him from my younger day when he stared with the DUKE(john Wayne) in Hatari. Iremember his role as pockets in this movie with John wayne. I will always remember his part in the movie and he always made me laugh when ever a crazy part of the movie was done just right by him and the other actour.s in the movie. I also enjoyed his other movie’s and tv show’s he was in.He will be dearly missed. he is in good hand’s now. May He Rest In Peace. God Bless Him.

I remember Red Buttons in “They Shoot Horses Don’t They?” among other films but this was my favourite. What a performance! I now have that film on DVD.
Some years ago I wrote to him requesting a signed photograph. Without delay he replied with a beautiful black and white photograph wheich he signed and dated. I shall always treasure it.
Yes the great ones are going and fast anbd there are so few left. So many have lived long lives and we are lucky to know them as long as we did. We shall never see their likes again and the present generation will never fill their big shoes.
