Even in Season 5, when the quality of the show declined due to Aaron Sorkin's departure, THE WEST WING was still a superior show. I'm a major fan of both LOST and GREY'S ANATOMY, but nothing surpassed TWW this year. I'm a little sick of people saying that TWW gets nominated "by default"---it is continually nominated because it is the most intelligently written show on TV.

The West Wing deserves multiple Emmy nominations this year.
Bradley Whitford, John Spencer and Richard Schiff, all deserve nods for best actor. Janel Moloney, managed to portray a character who has evolved tremendously since the first season, while always remaining "in character." Even the guest stars (Alan Alda, Janeanne Garofalo) shine.
The show featured some of the best writing and directing on television. Overall, the last couple of seasons (especially season 7) have shown a tremendous revival from the season 5 slump. When TWW ended, it left viewers sighing at the loss of old friends, rather than sighing in relief (as with so many other shows who have lived past their prime.)
The high caliber of the show will be missed.

West Wing should get the nod for best drama, definately. Season 5 we would like to forget, but 6 and especially 7 finished brilliantly. It left us wanting more. Bradley Whitford should be nominated and win for best dramatic actor this year, he just blew us away with his performances. Finally its time they acknowledged Janel Moloney, she also really brought it on this year. Sick of the rhetoric about TWW being nominated before, it surpassed anything out there this year.

Gee, who SHOULD'NT be nominated? Okay, I'll jump in. William Shatner. Charlie Sheen. Patricia Arquette. Jennifer Love Hewitt (although I don't think we need to worry about her!). The guy who plays George on Grey's Anatomy (used to like him but he's too whiny now). Teri Hatcher (I'll never forgive her for chasing Mike in that wedding dress). Ellen Pompeo. Will and Grace (I used to love that show, but the series finale was really bad). Jim Belushi. Courtney Thorne-Smith. Anyone from the O.C. Anyone from any of the CSIs (that includes you, Gary Sinise). Anyone from 7th Heaven. Mark Harmon and also that really annoying woman on NCIS, the one who plays the Israeli agent. I don't watch that show anyomore because she's on it. Sean Gunn (Kirk on Gilmore Girls--he drives me nuts!).

No Jennifer Garner. Please. Alias was an embarassment this year and I just didn't care about her or her character. She only knows how to cry and look tough. Enough.
Blythe Danner, Hank Azaria, and Oliver Platt are all wonderful on Huff and should be nominated.

Basically everyone who acted on 24 this season should get an Emmy, in particular, Jean Smart and Gregory Itzin. Also Jenna Fisher and John Krasinski from The Office gave superb comic performances, as did Donald Faison of Scrubs. Who doesn't deserve one? The Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives crew.
