'Desperate Housewives': Season 3 spoilers

9539__wives_l[SPOILER WARNING: Do not read this item if you don't want any information about Housewives' third season.]

It’s not too early to muse on what’s going to happen to the ladies of Wisteria Lane on the forthcoming season of Desperate Housewives. Writer and co-executive producer Kevin Murphy offers some mild spoilers to Variety that involve the relationship between Bree (Marcia Cross) and Orson (Kyle MacLachlan), a new love interest for Susan (Teri Hatcher), an escalating battle between Gaby (Eva Longoria) and Carlos (Ricardo Chavira), a wedding, and a ”big twist” in episode 7.

About the only thing here that sounds interesting to me is the Gaby-Carlos struggle, especially since Longoria was the show’s most underappreciated performer in season 2. (I’m talking to you, Emmy voters.) Orson looks like he’s going to be another George, a creepy stalker for Bree who’s a dentist instead of a pharmacist. The awkward mishandling of the Applewhites plot (and criminal underutilization of Alfre Woodard) throughout season 2 gives me little hope for whatever grand and mysterious story arc Murphy and crew have planned for next season. Just give us more Gaby and more Edie (Nicollette Sheridan), stop making Lynette (Felicity Huffman) such a scheming harpy, and don’t let the eight-fingered Mrs. Tilman (Harriet Harris) stay away too long.

What do you want to see happen on the third season of Housewives?

Gary, I am with you on this one. When I saw the dentist (I’ll always remember him as the ol’righty man) I thought, oh no! season 3’s gonna suck! One thing the writers of Desperate Housewives cannot do right are relationships. The pharmasist got on my nerves; anyone who pairs up with Susan gets on my nerves – heck Susan gets on my nerves!
I pray season 3 is a lot better!

What do you want to see happen on the third season of Housewives?
Nothing. Haven’t watched since the first season, which was medicore at best.

  • brandonk

Another love interest for Susan? Why? Just have her and Mike get together and explore the comedy that would arise from a new relationship like that. Season 4 they could get married or something. I’m not looking forward to Orson, who definitely seems like another creep.

  • Ryan

I totally agree. More Gabrielle, Edie and Felicia. They are the scene stealers of this show. Oh yeah, Marcia Cross rocks too.

  • pn

    This show blows

isn’t that eight fingers and two thumbs? I don’t really know what you’re talking about as I do not watch the show. Iron Chef America is on at the same time and really it is far more interesting than the gas bag waste of air time that Desperate Housewives has become.

Enough with Susan hooking up with every guy that she comes in contact with. Just get her and the plumber back together once and for all. And, yes, more Gaby vs. Carlos.

I’ve given up on this show. It started out as an unmissable twisted funny satire of life in the sub. It is totally destroyed itself. I saw the finale of s2 and thought to myself how pointless – they are redoing the whole storyline again. Like a lot of people I won’t be watching DHW s3.
The only shows I watch now are 24 and Greys (both of which are amazing in comparison to DHW). No wonder Greys has overtaken DHW in viewers and 24 has increased in its ratings an amazing 20%.

Still the best show on tv!!!

  • cj

best show on tv?surely you jest

  • Patti

I watched all of season 1, 2 episodes of season 2, I beleive I will watch 0 episodes of season. I just don’t care.

  • Miranda

Mrs. Tillman cut off two of her fingers to incriminate Creepy Paul. Hence, 8-fingered.
I agree with Gary, though. More Gaby, more Edie. Less Susan (she’s so tiresome), and please, write Lynette as a real person instead of a cartoon harpy.

  • Kathy

I won’t be watching S3 since S2 was the worst! I gave up on this show about half way thru S2. I did watch the season finale (about 4 weeks later thanks to TIVO) and thought this was the most over-hyped show ever.

  • Dawn

What do I want to see happen in Season 3? How about cancellation. That’d be the best plot twist EVER!

  • Bekkah

I agree with Dawn. What a waste of air space.

  • Howard

Actually, the plotline that I’m dreading is Tom’s stepkid and her mom moving the next town over. That has crap written all over it.
This show can rebound, and I don’t think it’ll take much. If they’d given Alfre Woodard a decent storyline, it would have been a better season. Personally, I’d like to see Susan less likely to do the wrong thing EVERY TIME. Teri Hatcher deserves better, and the idea of her daughter playing Mom to her got real old real fast.

  • Amber

Why oh why are they having Bree get involved with another psycho? I’ve already lost interest, it’ll be season 2 all over again. YAWN.

  • Mike

No wonder why everyone complains. You guys have nothing better to do. I’d be cranky also. However Desperate Housewifes is funny and original. If you don’t like it watch another one of those “doctor” shows. It’s That easy…. Can’t wait for season 3!

  • ****

the death of susan…then i might start watching again. season 2 was a joke in comparison to season 1.

  • matt

Please, oh please, not another creepy stalker for Bree (the dentist). They need to drop that storyline right away next season, as well as the “other woman” being Tom’s former flame. Ugh. Make it interesting!
Gaby, friggin’ hilarious and amazing performance this peast season. I still have hope for this next season overall.

  • NaxeruL

I wish season 3 would be much better than previous season. quite dissappointed with season 2. Change the storyline or kill Susan. Do something or else Greys will take over the viewers!! Cannot wait for next season of Greys!!

Season 1 was great! Season 2 a mess, but definitely had moments of brilliance (most involved the non-housewives) that have me excited for S3. The “big twist” tho I’d guess is either… 1) One of the Big 4 dies (pro’lly by Mr. Psycho Dentist… hmmm, Brie in his dental chair with “too much” anesthesia while he watches her slip away perhaps?) 2) One of the Big 4 kills the main man in their life… Susan shoots Mike accidently thinking it’s a robber… or Brie kills Andrew for the same reason??? 3) Lynette’s entire family is killed in a car crash, leaving her totally alone 4) Two of the Big 4 have sex. My opinionated bet is on 2 or 3.

  • jake

I hope they continue to showcase Shawn Pyfrom who plays Bree’s complicated and scene stealing son Andrew.

  • Yvonne

The dentist needs to go! Bree hooking up with psychos in the medical profession was done. How did he get from Susan to Bree anyway? Hook Bree up with someone real and then let her kids come back and her new guy help her kick some butt! Lynette needs to go back to being “mom” or at least less of a pushy witch, and Tom needs to grow a backbone and become an adult. Gabby and Carlos separating could have some possibilities. Susan needs to grow a brain and work things out with Mike. They’ve gone overboard with her ditzy side. Alfre Woodard may be a great actress, but the creepy neighbor with the boy in the basement was stupid, and I’m not sorry to see the family gone. Paul needs to stay in jail and his kid need to take his millions and go to Tahiti and never come back.
There’s still great potential in DH. Bree has grown a lot and it might be fun to see her start a real relationship. Lynette was great when she was the mom trying to juggle it all but she’s boring and unlikable as an executive who doesn’t care about anything. Gabby worked as a self-centered selfish model who cared on the inside, and her becoming a “mom” could have great possibilities. Susan needs some depth and a chance to do something other than whine and fall down.
I’ll give season three a chance… but I’m hoping the writers will show some growth instead of re-hashing the ‘been there, done that’ psycho plot!

Ok, so here is what we know about Orson – he was the guy in the movie theater that Susan sat down next to when she wanted avoid Mike. He listened to Susan vent about her love life and helped her clean up after the fire burned down her house. He visits a woman in a mental institution where he ran into Bree and helped her escape from there. He obviously has a past history with Mike due to the fact that he ran him over with his car. God people, give the storyline a chance … just because he ran over Mike doesnt make him a psycho stalker. Maybe Mike did something that we dont know about yet. Orson has never done anything else to give him the psycho label except be nice to Susan and Bree. It CLEARLY wont be a rehash of the George storyline. Stop complaining when we really dont know ANYTHING at all about this character except the few things I have listed.

  • Ed

Honey, that’s the problem with DH the plot lines are recycled! Hello, Mike already had an involved plot line in S1, besides being a drug addicted killer, he’s a dead beat dad. His character has been through enough trama for me to believe that he still has some more crap to reveal.
I too believe that the whole Tim plot line is going to be long and drawn out; just like the whole Mike Delfino and his sons grand-dad, that plot line nearly killed me.
And for god sakes, Terri Hatcher, eat something!

  • BoofishFontaine

I think the big twist in Season 3 should be the show is cancelled. It’s not good and after they completely mishandled the Applewhites, I have no use for them

  • Stephanie

I am telling you that the woman Lynette was introduced to is going to blackmale Tom even if she is the one his love child. He is having an affair with another lady.

  • Mona

    Hi!
