I believe Steven Dorf Would make a better young Kirk than Damon. I think he would do a better job acting also because nobody is knocking down his door for work, this could bring him back. Besides he looks more like Shatner…

HANDS DOWN I think it an obvious choice to cast Starship Troopers star Casper Van Dien as Kirk. When I first saw that movie, he reminded me of young Shatner. Especially the scene in which he is being punished. This is a no brainer in my opinion.
