PopWatch is 1: Time flies when you're having pun

161025__felicity_l_1Can you believe it? It’s been a year since Entertainment Weekly entered the blogosphere. Let’s look back on some of our finest moments, shall we?

The story: Slezak’s Felicity Fixation (see here, here, here, and, um, here)

The backstory: Well, to begin with, as you all know by now, Slezak is insane. It’s hard to say when he parted ways with reality, but I will say that shortly after he arrived at PopWatch HQ, he propped a framed promotional poster for the dearly departed WB series Felicity on his desk and began polishing it maniacally like it was a prized family photo. Little did we know the depths to which our star TV Watch writer would sink in professing his love for a fictional character who visits him in the magic, glowing "visiting-friend box" in his living room.

(We’ll post a new fond memory every day until June 13, PopWatch’s official birthday. If you have a favorite, post it below.)

I absolutely loved Scott Brown’s, “Tom Cruise 3-Day Detox Plan” – that was genius and hysterical! I forwarded that to my friends, and they all loved it too.
I also loved the one Slezak did right after Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck got married, where he had Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez interrogating Jennifer Garner Alias-style about how she managed to get him to the alter. Brilliant and hilarious. :)

I would have to say, Slezak’s love for Valarie Cherish. Especially when Madonna came out with her new 70’s doo for her new Confessions on the Dance Floor”; and Slezak’s caption was – “Is Madonna channeling Valerie Cherish?”
    l-l-loved it!

Any talk by Josh Wolk of “Browsie” and the “Testi-phils” had me giggling helplessly in front of my computer. I was hooked on several shows that you guys review, but Josh’s take on the Amazing Race was the one I looked forward to reading most!

Scott Brown’s tips to Julia Roberts on opening night of three days of rain induced belly laughs from me. it was amazing, especially when he told her and george cloony to just, like, be famous on stage if she forgets a line.
also, Whitney Pastorek should work for popwatch, as all of the TV watches she does, i.e. The Apprentice and when she took over American Idol for a week are hilarious. I still have “Melissa McGhee was robbed” echoing in my head. Amazing.

Okay, come clean. Are Michael Slezak and Michael Ausiello the same person?

This was great. I agree with Laura…Slesak’s Alias-style script was fantastic!

The addition of Scott Brown to the Popwatch staff for me was a big turning point. The blog was amusing and fun to comment on before then, but to have one of the bloggers make comments too was tops!
Oh, and on a personal note, it made my day to get into it with Kevin Smith about Jersey Girl that one time. Couldn’t have done it without popwatch!

Well, who can blame him for being obsessed with Felcity? I say more Keri Russell and less Paris Hilton in the next year of Popwatch.

Whitney Pastorek??? Isn’t she the blowhard who substituted on the Lost-watch. No no no! We’ll have none of that here…. please?… pretty please?
