Imagine if this coming Friday, Meredith Vieira used her final episode as cohost of The View to thank Barbara Walters for being like a great-grandmother to her, or to point out the way Star Jones makes ”snap judgments using her limited knowledge of the law and blind faith in God”? It’ll never happen, of course, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a hilarious scene. Slezak, just because Star Jones is an African American and a very successful one at that, who parlayed her Law career into a TV career does not mean that she has limited knowledge of the law. She is a very intelligent women, and was a successful and knowledged attorney. If you want to start harping about credentials. Focus your powers and hateration towars Elizabeth, who’s only achievement(a minor one at that) was going on a reality tv show, but then again shes a cute republican bot, so I suppose that makes everything better.
I can’t wait for next year! Star and Rosie are already at each other’s throats. Star and stupid Elizabeth will certainly clash over politics with Elizabeth being homophobic and all. And then there’s Joy. Will she be able to handle a funnier comedian than her? After all she’s still making Lewinsky jokes.
It’s going to be a freaking bloodbath and I’m totally going to try to schedule my classes around it.

Seriously, I have no clue why Barbara Walters wants to turn her show into Maury Povitch meets Pee Wee’s Playhouse. I think that she would have been a lot more professional that that.
The show is going to suck eggs. I was a faithful Viewer for many years (even making the drive from NH to NY one cold April morning to stand to be in the audience for my birthday. Meredith was really the only one who was regularly funny, relatable and relatively sane. Elizabeth IS a Republician Bot, Star is even more annoying now that she’s thin and married and Joy, well Joy is Joy–OY. I’ve stopped taping for the last month or so but I will tape Friday to see my fellow ‘guese Girl off.

Hey, I don’t care if dmac is African-American or not, because he’s right on. Star Jones actually got the View gig because she had a very good reputation in the NY public defenders office (or prosecutor–excuse me if I don’t remeber which side she worked on). I remember Babs hyping the View years ago when it was just starting, and she said that was the reason she had Str Jones on. I used to watch the show but stopped when Elizabeth Hasselback started. She’s a nitwit and she’s outclassed by every one of those women. But Meredith was my favourite and I totally wish her all the best on Today. (BTW, don’t the Todya gang seem more relaxed now that Katie isn’t there? Maybe there ws something to all those rumours about Katie being a diva).

Nancy, I agree that there are a lot more brains on a head of beer than in Elizabeth’s. However, to be fair she is a lot smarter than Debbie Mattenopolos. BTW: If you put Julliane Barbarie, Mattenoplos, and Hasselbeck together on live television, you’d have dead air.
