So for someone who spends half his day job (not to mention three-quarters of his free time) obsessing about American Idol, you’d think I’d have scored better on People’s highly entertaining new video quizzes on Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee. (Why didn’t we think of that Wednesday?) Alas, though, not knowing the definition of a ”mullet toss,” or the object of Ms. McPhee’s celebrity lust, I only managed a 2 out of 4 for Taylor, and a 3 out of 5 for Kat. Gasp! That said, when the rumored exam on my favorite season-5 singer* goes live, I’m totally gonna nail it.
(*Oh come now, people: You know his name… you know his name… you know his name is Elliott Yamin.)

I got 4/4 for Taylor, but I’ll admit that 3 of those were really lucky guesses. I also got 2/5 for Kat, both of the ones I got right were lucky guesses also. I feel like a better human being now though for not knowing she wanted to go all the way with Paul Walker or that she enjoys plucking her eyebrows.

The asterick note is a nod to “I Believe to My Soul” which was his last song on AI before he wrongly got the boot instead of the shrieking girl. I got 2/4 for Taylor and 2/5 on the Shriek.
