I don’t watch tv very much but Everwood is pretty much the only show I actually take the time to sit down and watch. Disappointed is a light way of expressing how I am feeling right now. Please bring Everwood back!
If you don’t bring it back at least hurry up and release seasons 2-4 on dvd to ease our pain!
WTF? I can’t believe this. They decide to keep crappy and equally failing shows like 7th Heaven & One Tree Hill. God, 7th Heaven has been on long enough. Are you kidding me One Tree Hill. It’s not even a difficult choice, so apparently those idoits at the CW don’t know sh!t. I am seriously thinking about protesting. I can’t believe one of the best show to ever be on television is being kicked off for two of the lamest shows to ever air. What I want to know is how the hell watches that crap, because the people I know don’t and I know lots of people. It’s really not going to be the same this fall. The only shows I have to go on are Veronica Mars & Gilmore Girls. What I see in the future for CW, really bad shows and even worse ratings. RIP CW. You suck!
Sorry, screwed up. Six line down, meant “Who the hell”.
This is heartbreaking. It’s good that I don’t have to speak this message because I have such a huge lump in my throat. I have fallen in love with Everwood over the last 4 years. The writing, directing, acting–all of it is so beautiful, so meaningful. I’ve loved watching each character evolve and there’s SO MUCH MORE TO TELL. I would seriously pay money each week to watch this show if the cast would continue to produce it. My husband and I don’t miss an episode (except for when our cable company goes out and we, incidentally, didn’t have WB for the double episode in this area of the country–UGHHH!)! Will another network PULEASE pick up Everwood?!
I am sick to my stomach over this news. Everwood was one of the best written shows on television, and certainly the best written family drama period. The fact that the CW chose to cancel Everwood, and bring back the maudlin garbage that is 7th Heaven – which already, willingly ended its run! – is just beyond ridiculous. Or the fact that it’s keeping insipid, shallow shows like One Tree Hill and Supernatural over Everwood. Un-bloody-believable. Everwood had so much depth and complexity, with richly developed characters and storylines, that oh my goodness… I am just beside myself over this. The CW should be deeply, deeply ashamed of themselves.
some of you people here are really cruel.. yes i am sad that everwood didnt make it but all you everwood fans need to stop bashing and talking crap about other shows such as ONE TREE HILL which is a great show and has a HUGE fanbase, and VERONICA MARS. you want to protest that a great show like that didnt get picked up fine, but stop talking trash about other shows.. God.. some people here are really childish..
Are u serious- Everwood was inspirational, intriguing, witty, and it pulled you into every moment. It was QUALITY tv. I dont even want to know why this is happening- all i know is that they cancelled something that gave their channel stature. OH and by the way- 7th heaven is the biggest piece of crap known to television.
With all due respect, I HAVE seen _OTH_. And I hated it. Please don’t pick fights in this blog.
Instead of being mad at the CW specifically for going with shows that are poorly written, we should be mad at all the networks for giving us reality tv, which sucks beyond the telling.
For all of the smart things networks do, they have to do some moronic things to balance things out.
Sometimes good things come from the networks moronic moves. I was so mad when the WB cancelled “Angel”, but that lunacy helped give us “Bones”, which is an excellent show.
Watch the good stuff and ignore the crap. That is the only way to really let the networks know what you think. Which means that we can all ignore about 95% of the CW.
This has been a bad year for television that I love. My two favorites shows have disappeared before my eyes. First Arrested Development and now Everwood. Everwood is the most genuinely warm, without being genuinely cheesy, show I have ever watched. The acting is fantastic. The storylines are gripping. I don’t understand what is going on with television today.
They keep Seventh Heaven. They lose Everwood.
The trouble isn’t with executives. They are going where the money is, and advertisers pay for safe, insipid Seventh Heaven. They won’t pay for clever, unwatched Everwood.
I only hope ABC or NBC sees a golden opportunity and snatches it up.
I can’t beleive Everwood is cancelled and 7th Heaven and One Tree Hill have apparently made the cut. 7th Heaven has not been watchable since the third season (did the CW or anyone actually watch the insipid “series” finale?) and One Tree Hill is utter crap (sorry to fans out there but I have watched it and it is). If Everwood was getting horrible ratings and had bad writing and wasn’t a critical favorite I’d say fine. But its NOT which is what is so ridiculous. Everything I like just gets cancelled…I’m sick of Tv.
I’m glad One Tree Hill is staying on it will give The OC some competition, the only other teen show left. I enjoy The OC so much more but Tree Hill is still a good show. It did end in a cliffhanger this season and i dont thank they would have done that if they didnt know it was going to come back for at least one more season.
It pains me to find out that one of my favorite shows is also getting the ax. I’ve watched Everwood since it began and I have seen it evolve into the mature show that it is today. Without being overly preachy it has set the standard for family shows by portraying a ficionalized town and its inhabitants that dealt with real problems. I’ve spoken to some people who think that the show was too hokey and yet these folks gladly sat down to watch tv that did nothing to encourage provoking thoughts. I despair when shows such as Two And A Half Men are still on when Everwood and Arrested Development can’t find an audience amongst all of these American Idol fans.
I am truly sad that this quality show will be gone. The characters are so real to me and the issues appeal to me and to my daugther who is in the target group – 18-24. I won’t be watching the CW next year except for Gilmore Girls which really isn’t as good as it once was.
