Amidst a sea of hoaxes, Mick Jagger emerges

Filed under: Television and tagged: ,

103440__mick_lIn recent days, the blogosphere has been under attack from a series of pernicious hoaxes. The Michael Jackson-50 Cent collaboration? Untrue. Adult Swim’s resuscitation of Saved by the Bell? Balderdash.

But the Mick Jagger comedy pilot, thankfully, is the real deal. Ed and Letterman veterans Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman are the creators, and the idea involves a janitor who plans to rob someone famous. Their original pitch was titled Let’s Rob Jeff Goldblum, but Goldblum was not available to be robbed. Jagger (pictured) was.

I am assuming some calls were placed to Jennifer Gray, formerly of It’s Like, You Know, on the hazards of playing oneself as a recurring character on a sitcom.

No word yet on the status of Keith Richards’ Let’s Get Drunk with Keith Richards or the Sopranos spinoff Let’s Hit Lauren Bacall in the Face.

    This is a cool post.

I was wondering why Adult Swim kept making them oddball bumps about new eps of Saved By the Bell.
On the other hand, Mick Jagger acting again? Clearly the director of this series never saw him in “Freejack”. If he had, he’d be singing something to Mick like “goodbye Ruby Tuesday”.
Besides, won’t this interrupt with the Stones’ tour schedule?

I was secretly hoping the Saved By The Bell thing was true.

I believe VH1 is making a new reality show with Denise Richards: “Two and a Half Divorce Lawyers.”
How about one if Matt Leinart becomes the new quarterback for The New York Jets-? He, Suzy Kolber from ESPN, and Joe Namath could star in “Date My Mom 2: Date My Drunken Dad!”
The id and I – “Welcome to The Bermuda Triangle of journalism!”
