I know, I know, it’s hard to get excited about a Ryan Seacrest-Paula Abdul feud, especially one so meta that the principals can’t even agree on whether they’re feuding. But I’m still hoping it escalates (maybe he’ll make her cry, like she did on last night’s show; maybe she’ll continue to hammer at his hard-to-swallow PDA photo ops with the likes of Teri Hatcher) because this little schadenfreude party is doing the one thing that Seacrest’s increasing media ubiquity over the past few years has not done: It’s threatening to make him interesting. Now if we can just get him to feud with Randy, too…

I think Paula is nice and all but I can’t listen to her babble on for more than 3 seconds. Ryan is just a jerk. I don’t know what’s his problem. I hope he knows that he’s not more important than Simon. His on screen picking fights with Simon is getting old. I can imagine how much worst he can be off camera. I guess I’ll pick the nice but delusional Paula.

It’s a lose lose situation. Ryan is vain and Paula is a pain killer addict who can’t sing. To be fair, Cindy Lauper and Dale Bozio (Missing Persons) are just as nasal but Lauper can hold a note. Paula should have hopped on to “So You Think You Can Dance” where her real skill lies.

Ryan is a nice guy! His fights with Simon are staged and for fun. In real life, they are actually very good friends. They lunch together, they go on vacation together, everything!
Paula is a loose cannon. She was SO MEAN on the Tonight Show, even if she was just joking. And boy, was she every loopy on last night’s idol!
I’ll be in a psyc ward the day I’m on Team Paula. Team Ryan all the way. I wish someone would just fit Paula for that muzzle already.

I’m with Laurie. Ya’ll folk’ve used schadenfreude a lot lately. Before Popwatch, I only heard the term used on the Simpsons.
On the Abdul/Seacrest rivalry, I say bring it on. Nothing’s more fun to watch on tv than ET’s coverage of two b-listers fueding publicly over absolutely nothing. Oh, and Paula was totally stoned on Leno, I don’t care what she claims.
Forget Team Paula or Team Ryan. Paula is too whishy-washy and Ryan is just plain lame. I’d rather join Team Simon.
I think it’s time for Ryan to leave. He’s become unbearable this year.
Paula needs help; the producers or anyone who actually cares for the woman need to get her into professional care before she completely implodes (a la Whitney Houston) and ruins what is left of her tattered career. I feel really sorry for her, but I can’t stand watching this human train wreck.

Dave Chappelle’s kept his wife and kids out of the spotlight, the PRESIDENT kept his under-age-drinkin’ hottie of a daughter Jenna out of the spotlight, and most famous news casters are able to keep their private lives private (I have a well known CNN reporter living literally next door and NO ONE knows), there isn’t much excuse for celebs who claim they can’t stay out of the papparazzi’s reach.
It’s amazing what the media can do. Whoever heard of Seacrest a few years ago? Now you can’t turn a corner without him popping up in one respect or another. As for Paula, she was a completely washed-up has-been until her agent (whose feet she should kiss) got her the Idol gig. I’m tired of them both.
How about Team Neither? Paula is inebriated 99.9% of the time, and Ryan…well, Ryan is Ryan. ‘Nuff said!

I’m firmly on Team Ryan for this feud. Sure, Ryan is kind of a dip, and looks like a goober wearing a suit every week on American Idol…but Paula irritates me much, much more. She is obnoxious, her comments make no sense, she can barely string two words together, and she interrupts Simon all the time when he’s speaking! She is awful!
