If The New York Post and The Hollywood Reporter are to be believed, ABC is facing a Sophie’s Choice next season: Move either Desperate Housewives or Grey’s Anatomy (pictured) to Monday night. This will fill the gaping hole left by Monday Night Football and free up coveted Sunday space for one of three highly favored pilots: Men in Trees (starring Anne Heche), Brothers & Sisters, and Women in Law.
This puts me in no kind of bind: I watch neither Grey’s nor Desperate. I make a nice gravy and watch The Sopranos, then set aside some quality time for the kids I don’t have. So you tell me, readers: Who should get the bump to Monday? Grey’s or Desperate? Also: Ex-Monday Night Football viewers, which one of these candidates is most likely to sate your testosterone-injected expectations? Marcia Cross can throw the long bomb, but Sandra Oh’s got an amazing running game. Discuss.
aaah, move Grey’s Anatomy. I like them both together though.
Grey’s Anatomy should move, mainly because I think at this point it has a stronger hold on it’s audience. Last year I would have said DH but GA has gained a lot of ground and I think is strong enough to be moved around, while DH has had a weak year (though last nights ep was one of the best). Plus, GA would probably fit better in the Monday at 9pm slot, thus letting it lead into something at 10pm and also leaving the 10pm slot on Sundays open for a new show. If we moved DH, then GA would still have to move up an hour.
…you watch neither? tsk, tsk. (Buy Grey’s season 1 on DVD – trust me, its worth it!) Anyway, this is a tough choice but I would move Grey’s Anatomy. I enjoy it much more than Desperate but I think if you put any other show up against The Sopranos it will probably lose in the ratings.
Ex-MNF watchers will probably have ESPN and will just start watching it on ESPN. I know I will. The problem comes with Prison Break – I actually didn’t watch MNF last season until after PB was over.

Anyway, definitely buy GA season 1 now!!
Move GA, it will be a true testament to an amazing ensemble that clicked from day 1!

Why move either one of them? I don’t believe they have to move. They should keep the Sunday night line up just the way it is.
Does not matter which one is moved – I will be watching SNF and MNF.
Move DH to Mondays. The show stinks anyways.
If Grey’s stays at the current level of performances and writing, it will be strong enough at the end of this season to survive the move to Mondays at 9 PM.
If you move Grey’s to Monday – make sure you keep it at 10 pm – only because once 24 starts up next year – it would be a head to head battle at 9pm and sorry, my allegiance would be with 24.
It doesn’t matter where either one of them is moved. I will follow them both.
It doesnt matter which one ABC moves, i will be watching prison break/24 either way..
Not everybody watches The Sopranos. I don’t have HBO or whatever. I watch GA on Sunday (not DH) and Prison Break on Monday, so, if GA is moved to Mondays, make sure it’s not at a conflicting time, and everybody happy!!
i think Desperate Housewives should be moved to monday night. I’m sorry but ABC has let this show slow down.
