”Human beings should not be sleeping among rats,” says Pras, who is trying it anyway this week, living on the street as a homeless panhandler. He’s filming his experiences with a hidden camera for a documentary called First Night, he tells the New York Daily News. (He doesn’t say when the long-delayed Fugees album is coming out, but at least he’s found a way to occupy his time.) Props to Pras, not just for his sociological experiment, but also for trying to turn it into a serious documentary (he wants it to play at the Toronto Film Festival this fall) instead of, say, a celebreality project on MTV. Hey, pedestrians, that homeless guy you’ve been ignoring is actually a wealthy pop star! You’ve been punk’d!

Hrm, I think it’s a great idea. And I agree, better this than a vanity MTV project, like we haven’t had enough of those…
I am all about this docu. It’s admirable that an artist isn’t automatically hoping into some bs reality show about just how awesome he is. That crap is reserved for fake celebrities like Jonathan Anton.
A true Ghetto Superstar
Wow. Look out all you mid-market TV reporters. Pras is stealing your thunder. Oldest sweepe trick in the book.
