What is all the judging of Mandisa for, she is located centralized in the bible belt, Is there a problem with being a Christian and speaking on it, that’s what’s wrong in this country no one wants to hear the truth anymore. And the truth is you all rather believe that she has done wrong instead of believing in the message. She can sing, She can Sing!! and She is a performer… That is no speculation or perception; you all are being judgmental about everything. What skeletons are in your closet??? I suspect much.
I enjoy all the contestants and singing that is what an Idol is about their talent and contribution. Look at some of our celebrity’s Elton John-Gay fans love him; Whitney Houston crack head fans love her; oh and don’t forget overdosed Elvis he still lives in many hearts. What about those AI’s? you must think and live outside the box to be a true American….
    Diva Philosophy:
    1) Free you heart from hatred 2) free your mind from worries 3) Live Simple 4) Give more 5) Expect Less
These character builders will help you be a better person as well as great judge of talent or personality, Please think about it, judge well and enjoy AI 2006.

Bottom line- Mandisa is still a very good singer and that’s what this competition is all about.
Everyone is throwing a word around pretty freely. The word- Choice. It is a person’s choice to feel a certain way about something. If mandisa is a homophobe it’s her choice. But It gets me steamed when people refer to being gay as a choice. This is just total BS. I am a gay idol fan and I never once viewed my gayness as a choice. Why would someone choose to be harrassed, ridiculed, spit on, beat, and not be able to be with the person you love. I do believe in God and I have read the bible, But the way I feel about it is, I didn’t choose this life, I was choosen.

I think the talent is a little off this year for Idols. I don’t think the song selections are terrible. I think Paris and Mandisa are both good singers but Paris thinks she is going to win and she shows that she is so sure of herself. Better to be prepared for whatever comes because you never know. I think Mandisa has a lot of personality and should not be talked about regarding her personal life

Come on guys, Mandisa was punished for being a Christian and not going along with the gay lifestyle. There are millions of us dear hearts, and yes, being gay is a choice. Sorry. Don’t worry about her, she will end up with a recording contract……………

I got a chance to read a lot of the comments from the writing and viewing public about the show and the many twists and curves the public is giving the production….. And I have to say that the public is judging from everywhere but their biased opinions…. firstly, it IS a competition….. and where there is a competition there is most certainly a scandal no matter how sensational it is built up to be…… Now let’s be real: Did we really believe Kevin or Bobby or Lisa really had a chance to win it all? Hells no!!! But the actual judging coming from the PAYING fansscrew the thing up until the final three or four almost every season… You see, talent ALWAYS rises to the top; either you can sing or you can SANG…..and if you can SANG I bet you can’t sing the most popular songs as picked by the PAYING public…. IDOL isn’t any different than any other greedy faction out there.. You can’t have a ‘runaway’ champion and expect to get paid.. so the show needs all the diversity it can recruit and all the controvery it can muster. If it is a contest, treat it as a contest… It’s awfully hard to choose between purple and violet, and equally so when you have a good jazz singer vs. a good rocker… Gon’t get it twisted; there is almost always one singer who’s a tad above the rest; that’s why they win, but the show’s creators and owners are the ones who win– right in the bank accounts!!!! Oh yeah check this– remember each season’s runner-up besides Clay? Well, do ya? But we all know William Hung….. figure that one out!!!!

I,personally, didn’t even catch the “gay thing”. I did wonder about how the religious part of it would go over.I feel like she would have remained more popular, had she just kept her opinion to herself. we all have a right to feel anyway we choose, just don’t don’t go public with it in the middle of a contest, that we’re trying to WIN!!!

  • DOTTIE

I THINK THEY ALL SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! BUT CHRIS IS GOING TO WIN WITH HANDS DOWN SO STOP WRITING ALL THE STUFF ABOUT EVERYONE CAUSE YOU ALL ARE WASTING YOUR TIME BECAUSE THE WINNER IS GOING TO BE CHRIS CHRIS CHRIS CHRIS

  • Cindy

I think the top will be Chris he can sing it all!!

Ok, now I have to comment on some of you that say there was no mention of the word “homosexuality” in the Bible. That may be true, but the references to the lifestyle was very present, can we say “Sodom and Gomorrah?” If you have any questions just look up Genesis 19:1-10. If you don’t know about the story, God destroyed the cities because of it’s wickedness, and sin. And the reference in the Bible is to the situation where two angels came to tell Lot that God was going to destroy the city, but He was going to spare Lot and his family. At the same time men from the city knocked on Lot’s door to ask for him to send out the two visitors (angels) so that they could sleep with them. Lot then offered his two daughters to the men, but they did not want the women, so the angels struck the men blind so they could leave. God destroyed the city for other sins as well, but homosexuality was one of them. There is nothing new under the sun, and God addresses all sin and that includes homosexuality, even though that particular word may not have been used, the lifestyle is definitely mentioned many times in the Bible.
What does this ex-gay thing have to do with Mandisa in the first place? This is a singer competition!

The Bible doesn’t have any specific mentions of gay couples living together, actually. References to Sodomy as they are in the current American dialect are misconstrued. Sodomy was sanctioned as a tool to be used against individuals during war and battle. Being sodomized or raped defamed the soul to God and was therefore a function of defliing captors and combators. Scholars for years have argued this fact quite successfully using the Bible as a reference for such connections. Sodom and Gemorrah were destoryed not because of gay sex, but because of gluttony and ire. The Sodomizer was not seen as defiled, it was the one who was sodomized. Many people undertstandably misconstrue these texts as Americans have little to no understanding of this historical background of the Bible.

To catgirl, Anisa and the rest of your ilk: I’ll not beat about the bush—you’re my enemies and I hate you. Faggots like me have had to endure the shrill screech of your moral condemnation all our lives. You and your opinions make me sick. If you don’t like gay people, don’t be one and just STFU.
Mandisa is a tremendously talented singer and I was sorry to see her go. But AI asks its audience to vote for their favourite singer(s). Mandisa simply didn’t get enough votes last week. We can speculate why this happened but we can never know. What we can be more certain of are the comments that she made in her Advocate interview. First of all, I don’t believe Ms. Hundley when she claims that she was unaware that her favourite author, Beth Moore, had anti-gay attitudes. I see her as being an intelligent person and incapable of such wilful ignorance. Secondly, while statements like “I don’t advocate homosexuality” may be reflective of her beliefs that doesn’t mean they are impervious to criticism or that they are not supremely offensive to gays and lesbians everywhere.
If she doesn’t support gay people, we don’t need to support her. I’m sure she will do very well without us. I’m sure the Winans will support her and help to bolster the persecution complex that the Pharisees love to adopt.
