Harry Shearer, the voice of The Simpsons‘ Mr. Burns, Smithers, and others, reports that the cast is already laying down voice tracks for the long-rumored big-screen adaptation of Fox’s animated sitcom — and apparently, the dialogue is a tad raunchier than what network standards would normally allow. Call me a prude, but that news makes me feel a little skittish. I mean, I can’t be the only one who doesn’t want to hear the end of Homer’s ”why you little…" rant, can I?

Sounds pretty cool to me.
Rumors have been flying for a while that it will take place a few years after the show and tha bart will lose his virginity! Raunchy, racy and funny. It’s about time the Simpsons got back to it’s controversial roots. Remember when Bart saying the word “hell” would evoke the reactions the South Park guys get nowadays. The show was a pioneer at first, an anti-Reagan/Bush statement and reflection of the times. Nowadays it’s too worried about offending people. I think the Simpsons movie will be very goo…D’oh!
I don’t have a problem with the dialogue being more realistic, and I think if they’re going to make a Simpsons movie, it should be on par with the South Park movie…like the show, but bigger and better.
I just hope that the movie is just as brilliant as the show.
well this will be an upcoming for the simpsons, look they lost their spark a few years and this movie will bring them back to par i have been a fan since i could remember but now i don’t even care what the episode might be on sundays any more its to satire for me but this movie will be a big turn around and hopefully win back fans look this movie better be good because fox is asking for two seasons.GOOD LUCK!!!
I’m with you, Michael Slezak. I don’t really want to hear the end of the “Why you little…” rant either. I mean, The Simpsons has always been pretty risque for a supposed “PG”, family type cartoon (Hel-LO nudity and sex talk!), but man, if I heard one of the characters actually swear… and maybe even say the “F” word?? It just wouldn’t feel right at all, and would feel forced. Especially since “D’Oh!” is such a fantastic euphamism for a swear word – if Homer were to really cuss, it would make his saying “D’Oh!” pretty pointless and nonsensical.
get a life people. Grow up. PG-13 will not ruin the show you pussies
I always thought The Simpsons felt PG-13 to begin with…
I think the simpsons movie will BE CLASSIC. I mean if South Park.can use foul language and racial Misc Language, I think the movie will be a INSTANT HIT. I am waiting to see Bart loose him self to a young woman, And Become A Man
It Is about time. I also think Millhouse and the police chief’s son(what’s his name) should do the same thing. That nerd like children should shed their image and become men. I also think Lisa should follow the two boys example and Become a woman.(If you know what I mean.)
The Simpsons Movie got rated PG-13 in the USA, but it didn’t have strong language. Some eps have been rated TV-14 in the USA, but no Simpsons ep has swearing.
