-Accepted your invitation to Dave Chappelle’s Block Party yet? If you’re not sure whether to see the concert film, you can check out the entire soundtrack CD, along with some film clips, streaming at VH1. Alas, no Fugees on the soundtrack, but plenty of Mos Def, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, and others. (Thanks to USA Today’s Pop Candy for the heads-up on both of these.)








I checked out the track listing of the Block Party soundtrack, and no, there are no Fugees tracks, or Kanye West’s great ‘Jesus Walks’ performance. There are however a couple of performances that weren’t in the film. I hate that. Great movie, weak soundtrack.
Dave Chappelle also set up a myspace site for the movie, which I believe also has a few tracks that can be downloaded.
While I haven’t heard the whole soundtrack, I gotta agree with Nathan that it stinks when a movie has a bunch of azz-kicking music that doesn’t make it to print.
My last disapointment was “Old School”. I am still dying for a copy of Snoop’s live performance with Kokaine. I also thought it sucked that “Casino”s 2 disc soundtrack had none of the Rolling Stones songs that were so prominent in the film.
