Are you hungry for more '7th Heaven'?

9417__heaven_l7th Heaven may stick around on Earth a little while longer — long enough to outlive The WB. The Los Angeles Times’ Channel Island blog says that the 10-year-old series, which was expected to shuffle off this mortal coil at the end of the current season, may yet return for an 11th, on WB successor The CW. It’s far from a done deal, and there’s also talk of an alternative, a spinoff featuring some of the younger actors (including new parents Sarah Thompson and David Gallagher).

Which would you rather see, PopWatchers, an 11th 7th or a spinoff? Or do you think the Camden family saga has run its course?

Easy answer! More “7th Heaven,” please! It’s been the top-drawing WB series for most of the past 10 seasons, and represents quality TV viewing for families.
It’s been uneven at times, but that hasn’t hurt “Saturday Night Live” in the longevity department, has it?

It depends on what doesn’t make the cut for CW. We haven’t heard about Everwood yet. I’m guessing it Everwoods fate comes down to ratings when it moves to yet another new night in a couple of weeks.

I stopped watching years ago, TIme to go.

If the spinoff would include Rose, I would not watch it. Rose is the most unbearable character ever!

  • Sara

for the love of all that is holy, PLEASE make it stop.

So does this mean that Simon and Rose will have to get married? Since the last time I watched, they weren’t parents yet!

  • Nicole

I haven’t watched it in a long time (and never regularly). But I think it’s time to go – the last time I saw it I didn’t even recognize most of the kids living in their house – what, did they pull an Angelina and adopt half of the free world??

Please, somebody just kill this thing already.

  • Todd

Can we take all of the energy we would place into this and put it into convincing Amy Sherman-Palladino to keep “Gilmore Girls” on the air longer. I’d rather see more or Lorelai and Rory than any of the Camdens.

Thank you Todd. I could not have said it better. At least one more year. Of course I will say that next year.
Please just get rid of 7th Heaven, it’s long over due.

  • Charlie

Can someone please make 7th Heaven stop already? It’s a dying horse waiting to be sent out to the pasture.

I agree 900% Todd! I liken 7th Heaven to bad shellfish that just won’t leave you alone. Literally every character is now married has children and their children are having children. 10 years is a nice ripe age to pull the plug, because by the time season 40 roles around Mister and Mrs. Camden will be sitting in the old folks home surrounded by their 50 million grandchildren reminiscing about the good old days of season 26 and that is one bad shrimp too much.

I was a faithful 7th Heaven fan for years. Then, the Camdens started bringing in new “orphans” to live at their house. Too much! When Simon hooked up with Rose, I lost interest in their part of the story line. I would like to see more of Matt, Lucy, Kevin, Savannah, Ruthie, and the parents–that’s it!
Too many side stories; too many aspiring stars getting on the show for the “younger” set of viewers. One more year to get back to normal–if they can’t write better scripts, they’ve lost me! :>(

Please for the love of all that is holy, end 7th Heaven this season. This show has become one of the worst programs on TV. And yet, I cannot turn away. I am compelled to watch this show only to snark about it on TWoP. The only reason people think this is a show about family values is because the father is a minister. I don’t know any healthy family that condones overbearingness, lecturing, gossiping, stalking, verbal abuse and above all bad acting and dialogue. Note to fact checker: Simon and Rose are NOT parents. That’s the baby of a friend.

  • Allison

Yeah, gotta reemphasize this– Rose and Simon did not have a baby. At least have someone who has watched the show write this up, pictures can be deceiving! (You should probably have the writer go back and edit his post.)
I would watch the spin-off, but not with Rose. The show definitely needed a villianous character likes hers– someone almost all viewers dispise– but she doesn’t have enough charm to carry her own show. And I’m a little sick of how all the CamKids got married super early just to have sex. I don’t know how much more of that I can take… would still watch it though!
