Read EW.com’s roundup of what’s next for Oscar’s winners and losers, and you’ll notice that Best Actor winner Philip Seymour Hoffman will next appear as the bad guy in Mission: Impossible III (at left), due in May. Now that he has an Oscar, the next logical step is to play an outright supervillain, and we think we have just the part for him: Wouldn’t he be a natch as Syndrome (right) if they ever made a live-action version of The Incredibles?
How about it, PopWatchers? What would you like to see Hoffman and the other Oscar folk do next?

“Stealth.” “Die Another Day.” I’d just like to see these nominees not make crap. Is that too much to ask?
I’m going to sound like a wet blanket. I don’t want a live action of the Incredibles. Don’t give Michael Bay any ideas.
I’d like to see Paul Giamatti do something really good again, and watch the academy screw him one more time.
They already made a live action movie of The Incredibles. It’s called Fantastic Four. Although that’s kind of backwards.
I’m actually glad to see him as the villain in MI3. Its about time Phil gets to tear up Tom. Tom got his shots in during magnolia…not its phils turn.
All the “Oscar folk” are overexposed right now. I’d rather not see them in anything at the moment. How about more of the people that didn’t get nominated?
Nah. MI3 is enough villian for now for Phil (though I could see Jason Lee do the live action version of the part he gave voice to). Since MI3 is ready for release, let’s let the guy have some time to do some theatre -or just relax for a while. 15 years of movies and theatre, over 20 critics and film association wins for “Capote” and the Oscar. Yep, let the guy enjoy some downtime.
Phillip Symour Hoffman is the only one who should be considered to play Ignatius C Reilly if they EVER get around to doing “A Confederacy of Dunces”
What I’d like to see next?
The procucers of Crash go into retirement!
“Crash” crashed the Brokeback party!
YEAHHH!!!
He is a villain! Go Heath Ledger!!!
Hoffman as a supervillian!
Well, it’s worth a shot…cause lord knows, past Oscar winners don’t have a great track record with playing superHEROes after taking home the little golden dude.
Lest we forget Halle’s bout as Catwoman or Charlize’s bout as Aeon Flux.
