Bring out the dancing baby: it’s time to celebrate the return to television of Calista Flockhart (pictured at right, with Portia De Rossi and Greg Germann), as well as some of her fellow former Boston attorneys from David E. Kelley Land.
Variety reports that the former Ally McBeal has signed on to star in ABC’s drama pilot Brothers and Sisters, about sibs who run a family business after their dad dies. Her sister: none other than Six Feet Under’s Rachel Griffiths.
Zap2It reports that ABC has also found pilot roles for Flockhart’s Ally costar Germann and former Practice star Kelli Williams. Germann and X2’s Kelly Hu will be among the stars of In Case of Emergency, a comedy about several high school pals who reunite in their 30s. Williams will get to keep using her legal skills in the drama Women in Law.
Which of these pilots sounds to you like a series ABC should pick up for the fall schedule?

I’ve missed Calista sooo much. Can’t wait for her new show! Can anyone tell me why they haven’t released the entire Ally McBeal show on DVD yet??????????
Probably because of all the music they played on that show. Too expensive to get the licenses.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING….
Gary,
When you say ‘pictured at right’, I suppose you meant the other right?
Uh, none of the above? Those all sound like some hella rehashed premises.
As for Calista, does she finally look as if someone has bothered to feed her? I always thought Ally McBeal’s measurements were more appropriate for someone living in Darfur than LA.
all of the above look awful. like the return of Ally McBeal/David E. Kelley cast members (and Six Feet Under for that matter) is really going to get me excited…
Jonathan,
I think he meant she is on the right hand side of the picture (to distinguish her from Portia De Rossi), not that the picture is to the right of the text.
I think brothers and sisters should get picked up, especially with Alias star Ron Rifkin, i believe, in it. Women in law gives me hope to see Kelli Williams again, Since she left the Practice a couple years ago Tv has been incomplete.
Marc Cherry originally wanted Calista for the role of Susan on Desperate Housewives and she passed. Big mistake. This new ABC pilot is probably a good move for her, but how many more breakout quality dramas (after DH, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy + the first few episodes of Commander-in-Chief)can one network support? I’m more excited about Rachel Griffiths.
They all sound pretty stale to me.
It’s about time we get to see Calista again! I think she’s an awesome and beautiful actress. And I for one am glad she(and Sela Ward and Mary-Louise Parker) passed on desperate housewives. Then I would have beeen forced to watch that garbage.
If ABC picks up Brothers and Sisters, they can air it right after Sons & Daughters… could we get just a little more creative with these series’ names
Brothers and Sisters … Rachel Griffiths rocks!
As a fan of Jill Ritchie, I’m hoping “Women in Law” gets picked up.
they’re always good news to know that Rachel Griffiths comes back on TV, but did it seem like a remake of “six feet under” with Rachel and the plot about the dying father and the chlidren taking out his business?
I can’t wait for the show to come out. I’ve been longing to see Calista on TV again. She is extremely talented. I’ve been wondering the same thing, why haven’t they released Ally McBeal “the series” on DVD yet? All I have is the DVD they released a few years ago, but it’s only a compilation of episodes from season one.
Ally McBeal has been released in Europe in many different editions already, incuding a Complete series box set
yes!! I deeply long for Calista on Tv. I Think that’s enough. She has to be return with show that is brothers and sisters.. I’m looking forward to take news about it. loves from TURKEY!
