The Mission: Impossible franchise has one of the all-time great theme songs, but apparently, there’s no piece of music that Kanye West can’t improve. Paramount announced this morning that West’s cover of Lalo Schifrin’s composition will be featured in this summer’s Mission: Impossible III. In Paramount’s press release, Tom Cruise assures us that West’s rendition will ”blow people away.” Cruise, by the way, is a big Kanye fan, according to this MTV News account of Cruise’s enthusiastic presence at West’s pre-Grammy concert in Hollywood on Monday. How enthusiastic? Let’s just say it’s good there wasn’t a couch nearby.

If all writers can come up with for Tom Cruise is the couch joke, they really need to just not even write at all. Tom Cruise may not be your favorite person, but everyone has their faults, even actors, and he still is a fantastic actor on screen and despite he undeserving razzie award, all his films always top the box office.
