'Lost' stars get raises, but with a catch

91911__lost_lKudos to the producers of Lost, who seem to have found a novel way to negotiate pay raises for their cast without the threat of walkouts that often accompany hit shows as they head into their third seasons. According to The Hollywood Reporter, all the remaining actors from the original cast (including Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly, pictured) are getting bumped up to about $80,000 per episode next season, or about two to four times what they’re making now. (No word on whether the tailies are getting a similar deal.)

However, producers are signing none of the actors to long-term contracts, since the writers could kill off any of them at any time. Best not complain about the pay deal, castaways, or you might get an untimely visit from Smokey, Zeke, or a stray polar bear.

Who do you think will be the next castaway to die?

Probably Michael, while trying to save Walt

Next to die? Put your money on it won’t be Jack. Such a wonderful cast and writing team…I hope everyone will survive.

  • Charlotte

I’m thinking Charlie would be a good choice.

I pray for Kate to die, but more than likely Charlie. How far down are they willing to let him go?
And if the island descends into good v. evil as many have suggested, does everyone who walked into the camera, brooding face, slo motion in the first season automatically count as evil?

Michael is getting as annoying as Shannon was… then again, Jack’s control issues are starting to drag down the plots. If the castaways lost the doctor, there’d be an opportinuty to balance out the gender roles that some fans have complained about and throw a woman like Libby into a leadership role.

  • spud

But Lyle, you don’t want them relying on Libby – Libby is one of the Others! Or maybe we do!
I vote Michael or Charlie – probably Michael since Walt’s already dead.

I say Michael. Michael will kidnap Claire’s baby and try to make a trade for Walt. The “others” dupe Michael, taking the kid and killing off Michael. In a side note, the others will actually turn out be the entire cast of the West Wing, and if there is any justice, Aaron Sorkin will be torturing John Wells for ruining his show.

Please- no more killing off of this Awesome Cast of Actors!

  • nessa

Please let it be Kate. She is the worst actress and most annoying character.
I don’t think that Walt is dead.

  • dsven

I would HOPE for Kate. Her ludicrous backstory is done, and I’m tired of her “I do whatever you tell me NOT to do” attitude.
But I’m guessing it will probably be Michael or Jin.
    GO KATE GO!! DIE ALREADY!

  • Jason

Locke will be next to die in a surprise move by the writers. With the impending war between the castaways and The Others, Locke will be ambushed and killed by The Others in their attempt to cripple the castaways by destroying their main tracker and hunter

Lost needs to kill off someone important. Prove its got the cajones 24 does. If I’m them I’d hold off on killing anyone until the war, and then have like three of em die at once during the war, or 3 during the span of the episode. Like Charlie (who really cares about his heroin addiction), I dunno Jin, and maybe Kate. Or Claire. actually scratch claire because then you’d have to kill off the baby.
Just dont kill sawyer, locke, hurley or jack…or AnaL

  • Evangeline B.t

I really do think its gonna be Charlie.
The drugs may take a part in his death, if anything.

  • slicks

JACK! I’m sick of his hero complex.

  • Ali

I think it would be interesting to kill off Clarie and leave the raising of Aaron to Charlie (assuming he’s rehabbed) Locke or Jin.
