How the hell can Lex die in Superman Returns if he is in Superman IV? He freakin creates Nuclear Man, Duh! If Superman Returns takes place between 2&3 then that just doesn’t work right. Remember too that Singer and Ratner didn’t write the movie, but are just directing it eventhough I am sure they had a hand in certain aspects.
I’m going to reserve judgement until I see the movie. I think that Singer and Ratner have both done good work in the past. I really enjoyed the work Singer did in X-1 and X-2, and as a HUGE fan of SUPERMAN, I will be anxious to see the new movie. I can see him (Singer) placing the movie in the time frame that he did, because even though I am a fan, Superman 3 & 4 SUCKED! So we’ll just pretend that they never happened. (yeah, I still got ‘em on DVD. I told you, I’m a fan) I am also a big X-Men fan, but I share concerns that the list of mutants is growing to large. Too many characters can kill a a movie. Batman and Robin, anyone? Yikes! But let’s see what Ratner does. He may surprise a lot of haters out there.
So I can just type anything in here and it gets posted?
I wasnt sure about this director but I trust Hugh Jackman and after i’ve seen the teaser trailer, where they do the Fastball Special, i’m feeling better. People have to remember to, Ratner did the movie Red Dragon and not just the Rush Hour movies.
There isn’t no telling how many times Lex, Magneto, Professor X, etc… have died or even supposedly died in the comic books and they always seem to come back. Anythings possible in the movies though, just look at Tim Burton’s Batman. The Joker Died….(supposedly)
Well.. let’s just hope that Ratner doesn’t kill the movie franchise. As otherwise we’d have to wait some ten years time till someone picks it and does some X-Men Begins movie.
******** STORM DULL !?!?!?! ********** MAN WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING…SHE IS ONE OF THE BADDEST AND THE MOST POWERFUL WOMAN IN COMICDOM….HER POWERS ARE CATACLYSMIC AND ONLY THE LIKES OF THE PHOENIX, MAGNETO, SUPERMAN, XAVIER, APOCALYPSE ARE ABLE TO HANDLE HER…ALL OTHERS ARE EASILY CRUSHED LIKE FLIES IN TORNADO….YOU CAN THANK SINGER FOR HER CARDBOARD PORTRAYAL IN X1 AND X2…HE DID NOT EVEN WANT HER IN THE FILM BUT THE STUDIO SAID SHE WAS MUST AND AS PAYBACK HE LAMED HER CHARACTER….
Nightcrawler is a huge part of X-men, and its disheartening if he only appears in X2. He isn’t a world beater, but is a vital team player, and makes for some spectacular action sequences. He did seem like a huge coward in X2, but he is not an easy character to portray. He should have been more upbeat, and comical. He was known to be a good friend of Wolverine, and that has huge potential. Maybe he’ll be in the Wolverine spin off, at least a cameo of sorts.
The X-Men franchise has been a great influence in the Marvel Universe. X3 will have a big impact for future films. In this one Magneto isn’t the soft spoken bad guy, but the big mutant terrorist that he has always been. Storm finally will fight for once, not X1 fight with Toad but she’ll fly and fight for real this time. Hell Halle Berry wouldn’t do X3 if Storm didn’t have a bigger part. X3 brings more characters to the screen too like; Colossus for a bigger role, Kitty Pride a.k.a Shadowcat has a bigger role with lines and a purpose this time, Beast, Angel, Juggernaut and a Dark Phoenix plus the smaller cameo’s also like Emma Frost, Scarlet Witch, Psylocke, Multiple Man and more are in this film too. I just wish Gambit would be in it and go after Rogue, cause I hate the Rogue & Iceman relationship. This isn’t the Ultimate Universe but the actual Marvel Universe. Yes it sucks that Nightcrawler isn’t in this one, I hope to God they have a good excuse in the film. And remember in the comic’s Professor Xavier faked his death for a reason, so maybe that’s what happen’s in this film, I hope. I have confidence that Brett Ratner will do a good job, he got the job because of his knowledge and love for the X-Men comics otherwise Avi Arad might not have hired him. When it comes to comic books I know my stuff, and when it comes to the movies I know even more of what’s to come, I got the education and I do the research.
Hey, I’m pumped for X3. While the first two were good, they seemed really held back in terms of going all balls out at the action and the emotions of the characters. This one feels different, bigger, more epic than the first two were. And I refer back to michael’s comment about Keaton being awesome as Batman: reserve your judgment of Mr. Ratner until you SEE the movie. Thanx for your time.
I agree with u there kurtis and I am glad Singer is working on superman rather on that piece of CINEMA GARBAGE X Men3.
hey Dc & Kurtis your Both Morons Singer couldnt direct His ass from his head,He Bastardized and Bitched up xmen,a nd now hes doing the same to Superman! thank God ratner is Directing X3, dc youre a true idiot cause Cinema Garbage is what i called those Poor as Last two exuses for xmen Films, X3 Look a Billion times better than superman returns u Jackass! and IM A SUPERMAN FAN!
Look you guys get all worked up over nothing… the first two movies we’re great films, and i feel the third will be just as good… BUT… here is something that is on everyones mind…. “WHERE THE HELL IS GAMBIT”….. how do yuo forget about the most popular, (behind Logan) of the x-men in any of the films… at least a cameo….well if he dosent show face in the third movie…i put money on it he’ll have hi own film….
Wow, I can’t believe how strongly some people hate Bryan Singer. Both X-Men films were very good, but besides that he also directed the brilliant Usual Suspects. The term “hack” should not be used in this thread because Singer has already proven himself, and Ratner…well, no one has seen X-3 yet. So chill the f*ck out people.
Damn you ignorant folks…
As others have mentioned here, I too am glad that Ratner is on board and undoing some of the damage the prior films have done to certain characters. Storm and Cyclops, in particular have suffered, having been reduced to mere shadows of themselves in the prior films. Blame the actors if you want, but actors follow a script and direction–they don’t ad lib. That said, I am REALLY liking what I see in the new X3 trailer. Halle Berry’s Storm is FINALLY looking great, and it looks like Halle’s fight to get the character more of a maternal/leadership/romantic role might be finally paying off. Even the short-chopped hairstyle makes her look older and more mature. I’m also feeling the wind-spin manuevers–those are totally lifted from the comics and even the video games. Little things like that tell me that Brett has an eye for detail and he’s truly using the comics as his FIRST guide…something that Bryan seems to do only as a last resort (as Superman Returns is indicating). Only time will tell if X3 will be a great film, but for now I am going to be optimistic.
