Maybe Matt Groening’s Futurama wasn’t dead, just frozen in cryogenic suspension. Though the series went off the air in August 2003, it may be poised for a Family Guy-style resurrection, reports Variety. As with that ‘toon, robust DVD sales and syndication ratings on Cartoon Network seem to have convinced Fox that there’s still life in the saga of Fry, Leela, and Bender. A revival is not quite a done deal yet, but cross your fingers.

Happy to see this coming about….Never caught it when it was on fox but have learned to love it through its run on cartoon network…Its intellegent humor that I think outshines the simpsons newer episodes anyday.
Futurama returns? I can only dream. The show was like the Simpsons with a shot of funny in the arm. Very creative, tongue in cheek series with lots of laughs in every episode. I’ll watch it if it returns, but thanks to Cartoon Network and DVD, my fave ep’s never a few moments away.

Groening’s true crown jewel is finally at least being considered for some well-deserved polishing.
With it properly buffed, the 50,000 mediocre and repetitive cubic zirconia that are continually forced to air every Sunday at 8pm may no longer be confused with anything resembling clever.

If they bring back Futurama, I will watch it. I never watched it when it was on, but I watch it on Cartoon Network, and I’m a huge fan! That and Family Guy are the only two things I watch on Cartoon Network, and I would be ecstatic not to see the same reruns everyday.
Hooray!!! Good things come to people who can wait!! Never quite understood why Futurama went off the air (besides the not so stellar ratings on US tv), ‘cos it was funny as hell due to its hilarious pop culture references, great charaters and story lines – well, as far as I’m concerned.
Love to have Futurama back on the air, back-to-back with the Simpsons… That’d be cool… Isn’t Katey free to do something like this, also? Since Billy did Zapp, Zoidberg, Professor Farnsworth, Fry and Amy’s dad (among others), you definitely HAVE to have him back… And John could probably use the steady paycheck, couldn’t he? The Simpsons sucks, none of the new episodes are funny. Every episode of Futurama is hilarious. The only people to blaim for this is the retarded american audience who probably didnt understand it.
The simpsons was good in its day. Unfortunatly that day has long since past and the show should be cancelled. So fox decides that its going to cancel all its best shows. ie FUTURAMA! to ‘Try and increase ratings’ what a load. i dont know about americans but im tired of having endless Simpsons re-runs on my favourite channel while they umm and arr over bringing back good shows. How can Fox take off a great show like Futurama. The Simpsons I only like the old shows, besides Futurama was always taken off by Sports etc.. It was never on enough I heard that Fox had a small vendetta against Matt Groening.

I too missed this show when it was on Fox due to its poor time slot. Futurama is better than the Simpsons, King of the Hill, and anything else that Fox sloppily tosses together to fill time (Free Ride, War at Home, Greg The Bunny, etc) Futurama is gaining a fan following much like Family Guy and will soon eclipse it in popularity. Fox should just take advantage of the opportunity to cash in at the right time.
I have loved futurama since the beginning! I have seen every episode and own all the DVD’s. This was a great show and I think they should bring it back, along with arrested development.
