Yes, yes, I know the New York City transit strike is affecting scads of lives in the entertainment business today, from production inconveniences on Jessica Alba’s new movie to the fact that Katie and Matt and their brethren had to get up even earlier than usual. But this isn’t just a story about dollars lost and contracts disputed and miles walked. It’s a human story, too. For example, unable to make it to PopWatch HQ this morning, I’ve been forced to work within 20 feet of my refrigerator, and at 10:14 a.m., I found myself scarfing down a bowl of leftover chili — even though I wasn’t really hungry. Let the slide down the spiral of shame and guilt begin!
