Mama Mia!
This would be an amazing reunion!
Fernando, please, please, please make it happen!!!
No way, please don’t do it! The ladies are out of date.
Gary, you say the ladies are out of date, but the guys aren’t?
The success of Madonna’s new ABBA-sampling song, Hung Up, is proof positive that their music is timeless and there is still an audience for them. Loyal fans like me have been waiting for them to reunite forever!
There have been several reunion attempts in recent years, but Agnetha been the major holdout, not Frida. Frida still performs, but apparently Agnetha’s singing day are behind her, unfortunately for us.
This was on CNN’s web site yesterday. Sorry kids, no reunion.
LONDON, England (Reuters) — The latest ABBA compilation to hit the record stores will be its final record release, a former member of the Swedish group predicted, but fans’ dream of seeing the pop quartet get back together would never come true.
Bjorn Ulvaeus said on Monday that ABBA had no intention of following in the footsteps of other famous bands that have regrouped in recent years.
“We believe that what we did then was pretty good,” he told Reuters in a telephone interview during a trip to England.
“But after, we felt that the energy was running out towards the end of the 1970s, we decided, why should we do a Rolling Stones or a Queen?” he said.
Some American fans don’t realize that Agnetha put out a CD of 60’s covers in 2004 called “My Coloring Book.” It never got a release here, but it’s by far her best English language work. But besides Agnetha’s reclusiveness, the guys don’t seem interested at all. The closest thing we’ll ever get is the fact that all four members were in the same theatre for the Swedish opening night of “Mamma Mia.”
The ladies are out of date? Excuse me? The ladies were one of the key elements of ABBA. Their vocals were natural. As for reunion? the problem is that there are too many fans. For example: the ABBA cover band Waterloo had performed at a summer venue in Brighton Beach, NY. The main performer was Sheena Easton. When Waterloo perfomed the venue was so jam packed with Russian, Norwegian and Swedish fans that it was impossible to walk anywhere. However when Easton performed, most of the crowd had left. That is the impact that the music of ABBA has. To have a reunion would be extremely profitable for both the promoters and the artists. However how many shows can be done?

I heard there won’t be a reunion but I would die happy if they did. My mother can’t understand why I love them so but I would be the only black person at an ABBA concert wherever and whenever they reband. They say no, I’ll still hold out hope as I listen to “what’s the name of the game”, “SOS”, “Fernando” etc. Boy, I need to get home and listen to those cds again!

And here I was struggling to come to terms with my love of the new Madonna single…if they would get back together, I could have my swedish groove going on without having to put up with the Material Girl’s silly words overlapping!
THE BIGGEST SELLING POP GROUP!
A REUNION?
A NATURAL!
DO IT!
I’d love to hear it; they are one of the most underrated groups of all time! ‘Mama Mia is a their best song, right with Dancing Queen
Even back in the 70’s they never liked being on stage so it’s not going to happen now. Although I don’t see why a return to the studio isn’t out of the question, apart from the fact that their own studio in Stockholm is now being converted into offices.
Abba were brilliant, no other music act before or since has come close to them! The Winner Takes It All is by far my favourite song ever.
We should all start a campaign to get ABBA together for one last time. If they held a private concert, and allowed people to view the concert thru paid tv or something. Just one last goodbye, would be great.
As much as l want it,
An ABBA reunion is basically getting together two divorced couples with other established families in their 50s to record 10 more songs after 20 years.
abba, if you ever see this ,please i want u guys to do a reunion if not for yourselves but for your fans worldover. i am a nigerian from west africa and i can assure you that your cd’s are still selling like hotcakes after so many donkey years of their release.please do one last show for us
