Okay, Box Office Bull’s-eye players, it’s time to learn a newword: Hope. As inWinston Hope, the extremely well-informed man who answered every singlemultiple-choice question correctly in the Nov. 14 – 17 round AND guessed that Harry Potter would earn $100 million, which is pretty darn close to the $102.3 million that the movie raked in. With that performance, Hope officiallybecomes the most successful competitor in the five-week history of theBull’s-eye challenge.
And that’s not all. Not only did we draw a larger-than-usual crowd this week (2,058 players to be exact),but, man, are these people smart. Alongwith Hope, there were six additional competitors who answered everymultiple choice question correctly. (Unfortunately, they unanimouslyunderestimated Harry‘s earning power, predicting somewhere between $20 and $75 million). Meanwhile, Shawn Brimley and Jen Eldridge eachmissed one multiple choice question, but they were frighteningly precise –within a million bucks — about Potter‘shaul.
Another 78 people missed only one multiple-choice question, and — oddly enough — they all made the same mistakes: Either they werederailed by Derailed, which they didn’texpect to see as high as #4 on the box office chart, or they undershot sales forMadonna’s new album. I dunno. Maybe theydidn’t hear the single.
