Four major summer movies, and four sneak peeks. Which one are you most looking forward to?
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (July 7, 2006) Yo ho ho, Captain Jack is back! Apparently the rogue Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) has promised his soul to somebody — and it’s collectin’ time. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley (looking particularly buff) are back too, but where’s Keef? Were all those Internet rumors that Rolling Stone Keith Richards (on whom Depp reportedly based his performance) would cameo as Sparrow’s father just rumors? There is a quick peek at a wrinkly fellow in this low-res clip — is it him? Can we get what we want? And more importantly, will this film be Rated Argh? –Mickey O’Connor
The Ant Bully (Summer 2006) I’m not sure if the casting reels for the role of Terrified Ant No. 1,697 will make the cut, but if the end product for Warner Bros.’ animated summer offering is half as hilarious as this teaser — gotta love that Schwarzenegger ant — then this could be one summer movie parents won’t mind taking the kids to see twice.
Cars (June 9, 2006) The ”Closed course. Do not attempt.” tagline that pops up on the bottom of this faux-car-advertisement is exactly the kind of intelligent punch line you’d expect from the folks at Disney/Pixar. That said, The Ant Bully teaser is twice as funny.
DOA: Dead or Alive (Aug. 25, 2006) How you’ll feel about this videogame-to-movie adaptation will probably depend on how you feel about watching bikini-clad babes kicking butt. But with plenty of cheeky humor and the suddenly resurgent Jaime Pressly on display, this big box o’ eye candy looks like it’ll be hard to resist.

The hilarious Jaime Pressly and popstar Holly Valance are enough to make me want to see DOA. Plus, the movie looks more like a spoof of Charlies Angels than a videogame remake.
The Pirates trailer has been on the ‘net for a week, just so you know. It was originally on Black Pearl Racing, a site mainly devoted to the Volvo Ocean Race; it was taken down a few hours after they put it up. Rabid POTC fans have downloaded it and saved it to their computers already. Keith Richards won’t be in DMC because he’s too busy; there’s rumors he might be in part 3. Jack owes his soul to Davey Jones, and that wrinkled guy you saw might have been a cannibal.
I’m look forward to POTC, but I loved the first movie, so I’m kinda biased.
I like the beetle disguised as a red ant. Let’s hope that one shows up in the movie.
POTC was good but it would have been nice to be warned it was in Russian. I had to click a few links which I couldn’t read before I got to the right one. Enjoyable.
I am really frustrated about this russian site, so you know. I keep connecting to a mandrill-headed dinosaur. Which is not from Pirates, I presume.
I can’t believe they actually made a DOA movie. First I’ve heard of it…and here I thought Halo was bad enough. Why can’t they make game based movies on an actual GOOD game with an interesting story…like Zelda?
I love Pirates and the new trailer looks amazing!!!! I think the only thing that could make it better is if Vaughn were in it!!!!!! I love exclamation points and Vaughn. Johnny Depp is pretty awesome too!!!!!!!!!
