There’s one woman in the world who can say pretty definitively who’s the better kisser: N’Sync singer Lance Bass or chart-topping heartthrob Usher. She’d also be a pretty good judge of which singer-turned-thespian has stronger acting chops. But Emmanuelle Chriqui (left, with Usher) refuses to smooch and tell — or costar and tell, for that matter — about the leading men whose respective characters courted her in 2001′s On the Line, and this week’s In the Mix.
The latter film finds Chriqui as an assertive Mafia princess who discovers she’s got romantic feelings for her childhood friend (Usher) when her father (Chazz Palminteri) hires him to be her bodyguard. Chriqui says she hopes In the Mix, along with her recurring role as Eric’s girlfriend Sloan on HBO’s Entourage, will continue to improve her fortunes in Hollywood. Does this mean she’s graduating to characters with better names than ”Duke’s Long-Suffering Wife,” a role she portrayed in the 2003 indie Rick? ”I loved that movie, first of all,” says Chriqui. ”It was one of those movies I think is a gem but not enough people saw.”
Of course, if the acting thing doesn’t work out, there’s always singing, she jokes, noting she’s been on screen with the likes of Iggy Pop, Mandy Moore, and Joey Fatone, as well as Bass and Usher. ”Come on,” Chriqui says, laughing, ”I have the best contacts in the music industry.”
