Waiting wasn’t exactly the movie showcase for Dane Cook I thought it might be; even if the movie had been widely seen, Cook’s role in it as a grubby chef was blink-and-you’ll-miss-it brief. But now, the cult-fave stand-up comedian is in talks to star in the comedy Employee of the Month. He’d play an electronics store sales clerk whose competition with a rival for the title honor (in hopes of winning the affections of a pretty cashier) turns brutal.
Congrats to Cook, though if he really wants to shine, he should find a role that moves him out of the service industry.
It’s about time Dane was in the spotlight. That boy is TOO funny to be a supporting cast member!!
